I'm also very beginner :f_biggrin:

Do you have any live websites of your own?

I don't yet, but i'm planning on making a poker website :)

Glad to see i'm not the only poker player in the world who is also interested in web development. :f_grin:

I just started my first job after graduating as a web developer. I have had no formal training in web development though so I get to learn it on the job :f_grin:

I quit my full time job at 22 to work from home developing websites. Back in 2004-2006 I was making bank big time :) Then online gambling got banned in America (most of my earnings was through casino/poker affiliate websites) and then not long after the global credit crunch and the tax man hit me hard.

I still build and do work on the odd website for friends but I have very little/hardly any money coming in from my websites now. My goal is to build up some money through poker and look at building some more websites in the near future.

Hi guys,

Just moving this thread to the relevant board.

On topic, I self-taught myself HTML about 10 years ago and I ran a soccer website for fun :) Have completely lost all knowledge of HTML now though :(

Best of luck to you all,

Gary

Ah, thanks for the move, Gary, i was not quite sure where to post this
I think the web development industry is really moving fast, there must of been ALOT of changes since 10 years ago! i've only been self learning for 1.5 years and studying at a school since the start of this year

I really want to make my own poker affiliate website also, i think this is a good combo of poker + web development

Does anyone else think they are alot alike?

I think of poker as a program,

my strategy is the code
and playing poker is running the code on loop

Me too :) And yet having problem to figure out how to divide time for styudying playing poker and studying programming, as you know we have to update our knowledge not only in poker but in programming as well, as someone said things change constantly and the knowledge after few yers might be too old. Plus also we need to not forget our girlfriends, so not only study/play.

Or quit the job
