Well, yeah, that's what they want you to believe thought, right? It just sounds to me so much like the typical kind of scam so-called "Christians" like to run, supposedly "proving" the existence of God, yet based on a huge falsehood.
Others include -
- The "missing day" found by NASA's computers
- Ark of the covenant found
- Chariots at the bottom of the red sea found
- Noah's ark found
The first is a definite falsehood, while the last three are hotly debated subjects based around questionable evidence/sources.
I believe in God as my earlier posts attest to, yet trying to prove the existence of God with a falsehood does no-one any favours. Eventually the bottom will fall out of the argument, and it serves as a huge dis-credit to the very thing it was trying to prove in the first place.
Now, I don't know for certain; perhaps the shroud of Turin really did belong to Jesus. But the real question is, so what? Secular historic evidence points to the fact that a man named Jesus lived on the earth and was crucified. Finding his exact shroud seems unlikely, yet supposing it was, it doesn't actually prove anything that history doesn't already attest to, nor is this inanimate piece of fabric endowed with any miraculous ability.
As I said, I believe in God. That doesn't mean I approve of what I perceive to be religious propaganda and advise caution with respect to the stories surrounding this supposed "sacred relic".
