Incidentally, if those pans are what I think they are, be careful of overheating olive oil -- it has a lower smoke point than corn oil or animal fats, and can harm some non-stick surface.

Correct, those are non-stick pans, and they have served me quite well over the years. 
I didn't know about the risk to those kinds of pans with olive oil, but that's because I'm not usually cooking with it - had to quickly borrow that bottle for the challenge. I rarely use something other than corn oil, except for melted butter on occasions when I'm making pancakes or crêpes or something along those lines.
I do have a tendency to overcook stuff in general, so I suppose I should pay attention the next time I'm cooking with olive oil. Not that I plan to switch to paleo or anything.

Our tournament will begin tomorrow at 15:43 CET. It's a $4.40 tournament with the option for up to three re-entries, but remember: Only the first bullet counts in the Troll Challenge! Also keep in mind that the winner is not who will make it the farthest, but who will make the most bounties, or who busts out the other troll, which would be an instant win. Only if none of that happens, the one who lasted the longest will win.
I had a look at the rest of the schedule around that time, there weren't as many interesting tournaments as I remembered, but maybe I'll still play something on the side.

I'm posting already, so you can tell that the Five Card Draw didn't go too great for us.
We both fought well, I believe. Prim got unlucky vs some shorties who were hitting their flushes, while I got unlucky vs shorties drawing better trips than the once I started with. Other than that, I couldn't complain too much, as I was sitting on a pretty good stack during most of my run.
Prim eventually managed to take out a shorty, earning her first bounty, and I had an excellent opportunity for it too, when there was a super shorty to my direct right, when I was in the BB and looking at pat trips:

I already wondered right after putting in my raise if I maybe should have made it bigger to make sure the field gets thinned out. However, I figured that my raise in that size should already kick out a few players while also maybe leaving some others in a spot where I'm dominating, to give me a chance at a better pot too.
Whether or not a bigger raise would have led to a better result - who knows. Either way, while both trolls eventually had to finish outside the money ranks, Prim managed to get a bounty as well as a better finish, so she is the winner of today's Troll Challenge! 
Next up will be the HORSE race next Sunday.
Yes, after getting 999xx and a short stack jammed, I could take him out. Could last a bit longer than Harrier but after a while I was blinded down to a shorty, too. Was card-dead. Eventually busted with KKxxx vs 66xxx, while Villain could draw two pair and I got nothing.
But cool that I could win my first Troll Challenge! :f_biggrin::f_love:

I think it´s squirrel vs puppy 2:1. Harrier won the live challenge last Friday and the HORSE race last Sunday. I won today´s 5CD-challenge.
We both completed our cooking-challenges.
Indeed, it's 2-1. Prim has a chance to get even this Sunday.
I'm not sure if we're going to count the non-versus challenges, maybe we'll just consider them a side game of sorts, without keeping score. So far, it doesn't matter anyway, since we both passed our individual challenge.
Btw, Prim and I have decided that the rules for the Sunday HORSE race should be altered. From now on, we are only allowed to rebuy once for the challenge (though each troll can take as many rebuys as they want for personal use outside the challenge). That way, the focus is less about late rebuys, while still giving us some leeway to make sure that an early bust out doesn't end things right away.

This week's HORSE race tonight was super close! Really exciting stuff, that's how the Troll Challenges are the most fun.
Both of us got good stacks early on, and I must say, Prim has more guts than a slaughterhouse some times...

After this, the race was neck and neck between the two of us, with both of us having a small lead at times. We were approaching ITM too, and both with our first bullet. Things were close, but I was the one who got into jeopardy first, when I had to fold a bunch of promising starting hands that didn't go anywhere in FLO8 and Razz. When it was almost bubble time, I had two super shorties below me, but also buried aces in the Stud hi part, and I'm not going to let them pass.

I even hit trips to draw out on a two pair that drew out on me, only to get rivered by a full house... a fitting end to the Troll Challenge.
Final finishes were 57th for Prim and 65th for me, out of 358 entries (249 players, 109 re-entries) with 63 paid.
That earned Prim the win in an exciting challenge that truly could have gone either way. I hope we'll have many more of those hotly contested ones. Hopefully on stream some time soon, if I ever get around to it.
This makes it 2-2 in the series. What will be in store for the trolls next week? Not even the two of us know yet...
After being slaughtered to HORSE-salami last week, I decided to let HER play:
I thought, this talented baby would do a great job! After the first tantrums "I hate Limit Holdem" and "Can´t play Stud"
she got into it very well. Even though he:
called her a "donk". 
Baby Peach managed to take some good pots and make good calls and good bluffs. Harrier and Baby Peach were running very close together until that poor squirrel got unlucky. Baby Peach was totally card-dead the last hour but could make it ITM, took a 57th place and a min cash and made HORSE salami out of Harrier. ♠_biggrin:♠_ugly:

Troll Quiz #1 - This or That
Prim has been feeling a bit under the weather recently, so we made a quick, casual Troll Challenge to be played at home this time.
For this, we used good old Sporcle, a trivia site that we may fall back to a few more times during our Troll Challenges. Today's motto was "This or That?".
We played five rounds of previously agreed upon quizzes and compared our scores. We are going to link the quizzes too, so you can play along at home and see if you can beat the trolls. (our results are in the spoilers.)
Round 1: Lord of the Rings character or IKEA product?
All right, I'll admit it! I have never seen a Lord of the Rings movie, or read any of the books! All I know is that there is some guy called Gandalf, and he's some kind of wizard.
Prim is more knowledgeable about that, and as for IKEA - I suppose she had to move house more often than me, though neither of us should be expected to know their catalogue by heart. Still pretty much a free point for Prim here, I expect.

Not a huge Looney Tunes fan, but sure, I watched it as a kid. Looks like that's also the case for Prim. Both of the trolls are actually quite interested in history, though we have different focus points. For example, I'm fascinated by ancient Rome, while Prim cares more about modern European history. Could that mean a slight advantage for her in this round?

Round 3: Drug or Pokémon?
Pokémon was actually a big part of my late childhood/early youth, though I grew out of it after 1-2 years. Of course, as many students tend to do with the stuff they liked as a kid, I grew back into it during my university days, but in a much more casual manner. That means that besides the 251 creatures I know from my childhood, I'm only familiar with a handful of what I heard are almost 900 Pokémon by now.
Prim, on the other hand, doesn't care about Pokémon, but she has a medical degree and also did some wilder stuff in her youth than pretending to catch bright yellow electric rats. Maybe we should be just about evenly matched here, then?

Looks like my Pokémon knowledge came in more handy than Prim's expertise in this quiz. Of course, Prim's knowledge does a better job paying the bills...

That's more like it, both of us trolls like their Spongebob. I still believe that I should be a bit more familiar with it, especially the original English version. I also expect to be slightly more philosophy-savvy than Prim, though I don't know a ton about Nietzsche. I still expect a slight advantage for me here.
