Possible defense against wide 3bettor?

It's probably worthed to look his fold to 4bet. If he is wide with his 3bets and fold to 4bets alot, I think we can expand the 4bet bluff range against him and 4bet bluff something like A9s-A2s, KTs-K7s, QTs-Q9s, ATo-A9o, KJo-KTo. We could then call the majority of value range. If he rarely folds to 4bets, we should never bluff him, but expand our value 4bet range and value 4bet something like TT+, AQ+. In either case we should have a calling range also, and I think that 77 good enough for calling.

We should probably also look at his postflop stats. For example, if he is often check/folding in 3bet pots as a preflop aggressor, it's worthed to call with wider range and always bet when he checks, if often cbets the flop in 3bet pots, but check/folds the turn, we should call wider preflop and plan to float him... etc.

And most most most important is to watch what hands he shows on showdown. This is the most trustful info. Cause villain's 10-15% 3bet range can differ from player to player.

Against a shortstack or even a midlestack, I believe it's fine to stack off with the hand like 77. In this case, I wouldn't say so.

the reason 77 is not good is because just because he's 3betting 15% doesn't mean he's 5Betting in proportion or infact, he even changes his 5B range compared to a 10% or 5% 3better. Therefore we can call 77 (should be standard call vs most 3B ranges) and likely correct adjustment is to 4bet bluff more as 77 will suck compared to his 5B range
