SB: $6.02 (60.2 bb)
BB: $13.21 (132.1 bb)
UTG: $10.29 (102.9 bb)
MP: $21 (210 bb)
Hero (CO): $10 (100 bb)
BTN: $17.78 (177.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J J
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, BTN calls $0.25, SB folds, BB raises to $1.05, Hero calls $0.80, BTN folds

Flop: ($2.40) T 5 3 (2 players)
BB bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.30

Turn: ($5) 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.20, BB raises to $10.86, Hero folds

Preflop: My default open. When the BB squeezed, I think I shouldn't fold this hand, especially vs 22/20/23,1 guy (just 118 hands, though).

Flop: I hit an overpair, so I have to call at least once.

Turn: He checkded, so I decided to make a small protection bet because I don't want to see Q, K or A on the river. When he raises, I believe it's the best to fold.

BB: 22/20/25(4)/23,1/71/118 (VPIP/PFR/SQZ(#ofOccasions)/3B/FlopCB/H)

IP just flat pre will do the job. I'd check ott in order to induce a bluff or loose call otr.

@Allen86

Didn't you play at nl25?

I don't like checking because AT+ is in his range so my hand is vulnerable, I believe. I don't see much worse hands that will call my river bet. AT will call the turn, too, and I don't expect to have two streets of value with my overpair.

I did play NL25, but had to move down, unfortunately. :(

Vs that aggressive villain I prefer 4 betting preflop.
What hands will you 4bet here?

118 is probably not a big enough sample to be sure that he is aggressive. Vs him I would probably 4bet QQ+, AKs for value. I wouldn't 4bet bluff him untill I have a decent sample or read that he is villing to fold.

Even for his 118 hands he has shown aggression- 25 sqz, 23 3b... this is not a passive one!
We should defend wider than your range.

What is the reason behind betting the turn bigger?

My reason for betting smaller was that he most often doesn't have a good hand because people usually tend to bet their good hands in this limit, so I'm trying to get calls from hands like AJ+, KQ, 99, 88. At the same time I'm protecting and trying to get value. The other reason is that I will bluff in this situation almost every time I have a bluff, so I'm keeping my bluffs cheaper. As folding is concerned, I believe that hardly anybody check/raises the turn as a bluff or for value with a weaker hand than mine is, especially in 3bet pots. If flop check/raise in 3bet pots is considered very strong at those limits, I think that turn check/raise is always the nuts. For example, why to fold in this hand, but call in the above one?

bet bigger to get more value now and otr. single raised pots and 3b pots just have different dynamics. sure he will have AA here sometimes (which is pretty goddamn terrible imo) but he can have a bunch of draws that decide to x jam for whatever reason or no reason really, most peoples tought process in nl10 doesn't go much further than "OH I HAVE A TON OF EQUITY NOW, GOTTA CHECK JAM IT IN HIS FACE".

in the KK hand YOU are 3betting UTG. i'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess u 3bet this spot around 3-4%. it doesn't even matter, ur opponent will perceive ur range like that.

in this hand you are opening CO, BU flats and BB, who is definitely getting out of line, squeezes. he has easily a 10% range, probably a good bit more. mostly sooooted hands btw. now you decide to FLAT THE SQUEEZE, or to put it in other words CAP YOUR RANGE.

hopefully u can see in which of these scenarios your opponent is likely to think he can make u fold.
