nice efforts as usual (except the jogging, get dat ass out and do a jogging round! Bring an audiobook with you but make sure not to run into any poles

Day 55 (2016.01.14)
What a tough day. Didn't felt too good for some reason, couldn't focus on things be it poker or other stuff, although was able to do the workouts and Deutsch rather effectively. Just... didn't feel right whole day, you know... I think I could've done better at the tables and play between A and B-game, but kinda dropped to C-game for the most part. And still ended up basically breakeven which actually a sign of the progress... Even playing on autopilot mostly I was able to fold a lot and kept the WTSD reasonable.
It might be just the end of the week exhaustion, I don't really know yet. If so - it might the first time in years I'm feeling the "end of the week" impact, because it's been just 4 days into my new marathon - and it feels like months now. And not in a bad way - I feel I'm doing a lot and USING more time instead of WASTING it. Will see how it goes.

Day 56 (2016.01.15)
OK, it's Friday and actually feels like I'm getting the cold now. We have the snow and everything, it is cold outside and I had to walk around for a while too. Or maybe that's the reason I felt not really good yesterday... Anyways... I didn't play much today and didn't play well too. And - it's Friday! I've been hitting good hands only to lose over and over again. I've seen people calling 3bets with J3s and 96o and hitting it. So even I was happy to see a lot of premiums today - it was mostly disappointments postflop. As a result - terrible showdown stats, WTSD 32% and W$SD 42%.
I also missed jogging... again! The weather and the fact that I felt uneasy... I'm actually thinking now to drop it. Will think about think about it on weekend.

I know it's supposed to be a weekend. But I haven't play enough hands during the week, had a nice coaching session with asimos and... yeah, well, the most important part is - I HAD to get that Cash Quest reward! And indeed I did - 2.5$ are mine! Well, had to play around 1.5k hands too - I did rather well. I was expecting some kind of fish aggro fest as usual but it went rather smoothly, been dealt good, played good as well - couple of tough folds. And I had one of the most annoying river cards EVER! I would've get this guy's stack if not that damn Ace on the river...

But anyways - feel pretty happy about the whole day, managed to do some other stuff too... Oh! Right... the stats and the graph.

Week 13 (including weekend)
First week this year and here I am again - having a good time at 10NL. Well, it was more or less the same the last time I took a shot at 10NL, but hopefully it will be different this time. Oh I wish I could have a dime for each time I hear or say those words
But hey - you live and learn and get stronger. This time I got a coach and more confidence. And I ran pretty good: 2.7bb/100 by EV is decent but the real moneys went sky high with 7.5bb/100. WTSD 25% is rather on the high side but W$SD 52% - that's also a sign I ran hot.
Stats, results and bankroll challenge report is here.

Other stuff:
Sport is going fine except jogging. I woke up at 6 a.m. every day this week, was working out everyday, following my new diet (well, it's more like an eating plan than a real diet) - and feel actually pretty good about that all. But jogging... jeez... it falls off the whole system to be honest. So I'm going to drop it for this month and will probably try to incorporate it back into the schedule once I feel ready.
Doing A LOT of programming as planned. Actually according to Toggl I've spent 23 hours on poker this week (including 20 playing hours and 3 studying and analyzing) and 22 hour on programming - that include both actual work and studies. And that's HUGE really. Joined to one more big project this week, a long road ahead, two other big projects are moving forward slowly. And almost finished one small project - hopefully will be able to share something next week.
Studied German every day too - finished the A1 book and next week going to start with A2. And unfortunately haven't touched guitar at all.
Good luck everyone, see you next week.
Damn, instead on creating a new post - I've edited yesterday's one.
Day 58 (2016.01.19)
I won't even begin to comment this particular day. It was so fucked up on so many levels - that poker troubles pales in comparison. Fuck it.

Day 59 (2016.01.20)
First of all - I'd like to again apologize for the yesterday's breakdown. It was one hell of a day - basically everything went wrong. But that's not an excuse for being undisciplined. Today everything seemed better. The biggest issue was - I hurt my neck badly yesterday. Don't know happened exactly - it might have been cold, stress or I hit something during the work-out and didn't noticed - or maybe it was the combination of everything. But it started with the shoulder, then the whole upper back, and then by the time I went to sleep - neck got involved too. I couldn't sleep whole night basically - any movement brought so much pain. I woke up (well if you can say that about a person who didn't sleep much) at 6 as planned but stayed in bed, snoozing and reading, trying to relax my muscles. It was getting worse and when I came out of the bed with the intention to pay doctor a visit - I actually felt better! And during the day when I was standing or sitting - pain was almost gone. I'm a bit worried about how this night will go - if it won't get better - I think I'll have to go for a check up.
Of course I had to miss the workout sessions today - although I tried. Other things went better - studied German, did a lot of progress in programming... and of course - poker. After reviewing some hands and database - of course there were some mistakes here and there. But still - I have to admit it was a tough variance patch. Having WTSD like 23% you would expect a good chunk of showdowns coming my way - but WTSD was 38% - which is ridiculous! So I had some worries firing up a session this afternoon - but did well. Also it the Cash Quest goals pretty quickly - and guess what? Biggest prize so far - whole 50 bucks! It made up for yesterdays losses for sure, thank you, PokerStars.

Then I played some more and was actually up around 4 buy-ins towards the end of the day. Not sure why but I decided to play just one last session before I go to sleep - and BOOM! Had to cut it short after hitting QQ vs KK, KK vs AA and then again QQ vs KK. Well, yeah... thank you, PokerStars. But anywho - I think overall I was able to control my emotions and fought through the pain and discomfort, and proved something to myself as well. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Yes, the rakeback is nice actually, even without the quest bonuses. Those StarsCoins are piling up rather quickly. It's been less than a month so far - but my rough estimation shows around 23-25% rakeback. And it's not in some abstract FPPs - the new system makes it easy to see and easy to use those Coins. At this point I can't see any better way other than just converting them into cash via VIP Store. I wonder if I should wait and see if they will introduce something more lucrative? But that's very unlikely - what's lucrative for players costs money to the room I guess.
Does anyone have any idea about those Coins? Convert them now or keep them for better deal?
Day 60 (2016.01.21)
Tough day because I was still struggling with the pain but it's getting better. Tried to do the short workout - didn't feel good, so perhaps I'll rest till the next week.
Poker wise - I started up a new habit - recording all the sessions and most of them with the voice-over. I will probably keep them for a while and delete them unless there are some session that require special attention. Actually played 6 of them today - first went really good, I was up more than 3 buy-ins, then two last evening sessions went bad - lost everything back and had to call it quits with basically b/e result.

At what time do you usualy go to sleep if youre able to wake up at 6AM? I just cant make myself wake up that early. Also when you wake up that early what do you usually do? Also good luck with the challenge man and i,m following you with the journey.
RMSjoshua, thanks for the support, bro.
I go to bed around 10 p.m. - but we usually watch some TV series or a movie for an hour. From 11 till midnight I read a book or watch tutorials. And I fall asleep around midnight. But sometimes I can do it earlier - basically from 11 till midnight I fall asleep whenever I feel I should.
So average sleeping time is about 6 hours. I did some experimenting on that - there is a point when you wake up really fresh. Try setting the alarm from 5 to 8 hours with 30 minute steps for a couple of weeks - you'll find the sweet spot. Also make sure you use power naps during the day to refresh yourself, I'm usually having either two 20 minute naps or one long 40 minute sometimes.
What do I do at 6 a.m.? Well, usually I go downstairs, turn off my PC and spend some time thinking about my priorities for today. Then I start programming most of the time - it's the activity that fits best for the early morning. It gets my mind to fully wake up and usually consumes me for 1-2 hours completely. Sometimes I watch courses, sometimes do some hands reviews and analysis, sometimes I even stay in bed for a while reading a book or watching tutorials. But those are less effective things - they make me want to go back to sleep. Another good thing to do is - to study something using pen and paper. But those works for me - and might not work for you. You have to experiment and explore your own possibilities.
I would advice not to eat too early and not to do workouts. At least it didn't work for me. I'm having a breakfast around 8-9 a.m. - before that I might eat some nuts and drink some water. And I moved workouts to the pre-lunch time, it's way more effective than in the mornings when the body isn't fully awake yet.
Good luck!
Hope the pain goes away asap, I know how terrible it can be
I would do a lot of heat treatment and resting your back/shoulders/neck a lot!
Thanks, vonki. Yeah, resting sounds good - but who's gonna do all the things for me if I just lay around and enjoy myself ![]()
Day 61 (2016.01.22)
Another bad day at the office, had to call it quits early - but hey, it's Friday. And I'm not running good lately... Nor I play good I guess. Couple of days ago when I was having an upswing I wrote that I'll have to wait and see how will I perform on a bad day. Well, here they are - the bad days. And I'm not performing too good. On the other hand - I've been dealt terrible, that's a fact. Those tough spots where I'm still unable to fold - they are popping up all the time and driving me crazy. With WTSD 25% I have on at SD just 41% - I wasn't spewing around and calling down with crap, you know. So what's going on? I have no clue to be honest. So I guess it's the usual - keep your head down and wait till variance come to your side.

Week 14 (including weekend)
Second week brought a tough times at 10NL. I was lucky enough to get some bonuses to compensate the losses. On Tuesday among other things - I hurt my neck and the back badly, still struggle with pain - but it's getting better. Unfortunately I had to skip all the work-out sessions for several days. And I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do anything this week neither - gonna try today. At least I was waking up and learning German regularly.
Coming back to poker. It wasn't as bad as Week 09 but still - very tough. I keep running way over EV but now I'm also losing a ton. On the weekend I made a decision to start playing just two tables of Zoom at a time. I've also been recording every single session and marking those where I lost or felt bad about something to review them later. Hopefully this will help me to improve discipline. But that also means that I will be unable to put as much volume as I planned. I'm gonna try and play around 1.5k hands every day plus some on weekend - so I'll get around 10k hands per week at best. But I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
Stats-wise I'm doing bit better - reduced my VPIP/PFR to 29/25 and WTSD/W$SD are 25/46 - I don't know, it feels like I was getting lucky running over EV and I was getting unlucky being involved in some tough spots at the same time. Anyways, roll still allows me to stay up at learn how to beat 10NL - so that's exactly what I am going to this week. Stats, results and bankroll challenge report is here.

Other stuff:
Well, I've already described most of the stuff - the only thing is left is programming. The small game-project is almost finished, we just need to polish it and try to release it on Android. Other three bigger projects unfortunately are not going anywhere - everything is stuck basically on the discussion stage. At least I have some free time to focus on some other things but still I hope there will be some work to do. I've also signed up to two other game-dev courses at Coursera - so far it's been interesting so no reason to stop there.
Good luck everyone, see you next week.
I just streamed my first session on Twitch - it was fun. Still some stuff to be done with layouts and stuff - but otherwise - I'm going to try and stream almost every session with mic and camera whenever possible. And I set 200 sec delay - I hope this is enough
If anyone has any advice how to make it better - I'd love to hear it. Meanwhile - feel free to join me any time you want at http://www.twitch.tv/demonrax
Day 62 (2016.01.25)
Another fresh week started fine, actually I was up more than 7 buy-ins at some point - then lost some back. I've been very solid and tight, maybe even too tight. WTSD was around 18% for most of the day - it's probably my all-time low. And W$SD went to the roof for around 65% or so. At the end of the day they were around 23/55 - which is just perfect I think.
For more discipline, tracking and self control I've decided to try and stream all my sessions on Twitch. Most of them I'm gonna stream with camera and mic but sometimes when people are around me - just tables without comments. Still struggling with the video quality and performance issues - but added some music and setup the texts and stuff. Feel free to share your thoughts and comments on how does it look like and what could be improved!
The streaming activity kept me very busy and unfortunately I didn't have much time to do anything else. Almost 7 hours of just streaming! And I spent a lot of time setting everything up etc. And also I was so sleepy for the whole day. So did almost no programming except some in the morning. And fell asleep the moment I sat down to study German. And I tried working out - still a little sore, whole upped back and shoulders. Hopefully one or two days more - and I'll be in a better shape.

Day 63 (2016.01.26)
Was busy streaming all day long again - it actually takes a lot of time and energy, at least at this point. Afternoon I was literally falling asleep at the tables and tried to add third tables - it felt perfect - enough time to think and talk about the hand. Although later in the evening I think I've made couple of mistakes. Overall I ended up b/e by EV, having great WTSD and W$SD again - 27 and 52 respectively. Going to improve tomorrow for sure since I got this Twitch thing sorted out and can just focus on playing. And again - feel free to join me anytime tomorrow!> http://www.twitch.tv/demonrax <:f_thumbsup:
