Heard a rumour that you and an unnamed PokerStrategy.com HeadAdmin who uses an old man cartoon character as an avatar are bringing an MTT series to life real soon. :truestory:

I heard something about this. I think I vaguely remember some details about a 23 event MTT series covering most game types and formats but I cannot remember from when it is going to start?

Bricked most of yesterday although we did have nice stacks in a few at one stage ($11 Bounty Builder, $3.30 Bounty Builder and the Big $3.30)

Ended up finishing 141st in the Big $3.30, best run in a long, long time but obviously miles away from the big stuff!

Next time!

Update:

Taking a Hold'em holiday at the moment. Just fallen out of love with the game right now and you can currently find me playing donating my bankroll at 8-game, FL 2-7 Triple Draw, PL 5CD and NL 2-7 Single Draw!

Hoping the break away from NLHE can recharge the batteries and when I come back I am more focused and passionate than ever. This time last year I was crushing the $2.50 180s with a sick ROI.

In other, better news.... PokerStrategy.com are launching an MTT series that I helped create. When I started as a moderator 6 years ago it was because I had proposed an idea to create a Poker series for PokerStrategists to compete in akin to the WSOP. It never materialised back then but it was announced last week that it is happening this year and in fact in 2 weeks time!

Schedule details HERE
Players Choice Event details HERE

$25 bounty on my head in the $11 event! Easy money!

Hey Gary,

Nice to see another mixed games player around here. I assume the games you mentioned are all MTTs, or are you also playing cash games every now and then?

Also, have you tried SNGs? The PL 5CD 6-max SNGs could surely use a bit more traffic.

Looking forward to cross swords with you in the weekend series! _evil:

Hey mate, I probably cannot consider myself a mixed game player yet, just kinda playing some MTTs for fun at the moment. I never considered SNGs  but I might try tonight and see if there are some reggable games.

Yes, looking forward to crossing swords with you and the crew in the Weekend Series. It should be a fun event!

Hey V,

Yes, finished until September again. Results are due out in a few hours so hopefully there will be no repeat exams in mid August. I have concerns over one exam that didn't go so well but fingers crossed I've done enough!

Gl in the match later btw!

Hoping Ireland can at least manage a draw but it's going to be very difficult!

I've been grinding them for a few months last year and made a decent profit. Based on what I saw back then, I'd say they are definitely beatable but the traffic isn't great. In the $1.50 and $3.50 games, you have to wait a bit until things get going, but you should be able to play two or three of them at the same time. At $7, however, you'll be lucky if you manage to get a game going at all.

Not sure how things are today. I only played a few of them recently and traffic seems to be as bad or slightly worse than back then. Didn't have any success in them so far, but I doubt that the skill level has changed very much.

Passed the exams and delightfully got 51 in the exam where I struggled so very pleased.

Tried out a single game of PL5CD, ran like the sun and took it down! Disappointed in traffic in the other games... almost got a Triple Draw game going but it wasn't to be.

Congratulations!

I heard the guy who finished 2nd also did pretty well, though.
He may have been from Pokerstrategy as well, who knows...
