It has been a while since I last posted. Also in the last month I have not been playing much poker rather sorting out life issues. This is not the end of my poker career it is the new beginning! I opted out of the bankroll challenge a few weeks back in order to start a new diet aimed at correcting Gut issues. Over the past few years I have put a lot of time into understanding and finding ways to fix the family's health issues. Sadly with all the cut backs going on in the UK lately a lot of medical support has disappeared with that. Doctors are getting less time to see patience and less money to help them. Sadly I see a dark and dreadful end to a great health service which has been a fundamental rock of this country.
I am aiming to re-join the bankroll challenge in a few weeks time with a new super charged attitude and direction! This time I will reach my goals! The program I have started is showing promising signs on the health front and with this in mind I should be able to really crush those limits.

My limited knowledge of fish keeping has been a bit of a nightmare in the last month as I have tried to put a working tank together. Unfortunately living in the UK everything is especially expensive, and this is the case with fish keeping 
and it is taking a lot longer than I first imagined. Also the nightmare of what filter, heater, what fish aren't going to eat or fall out with each other. If I wanted a shark (carp) it has to live in its own tank as many of them don't get along with other fish. 
At the moment I have 2 empty tanks and no fish. I will keep you updated on how this goes.
I have played the odd games in the last few months and cashed a few of them, but nothing greater than a min cash. Tonight is the Sunday Storms 6th anniversary and I managed to win a seat from a $2.20 satellite and $10 free bet on the Cheltenham Festival too. So hopefully tonight is the night and If I win this or make a good cash my fish tank can be completed and I will have a good bank roll to start my new BR challenge with.

Little bit of a update. So far I haven't played a lot of poker this month and have been continuing to work on health projects, with some positive results so far. I quit drinking tea and coffee, replacing with ginger tea. Also I have cut out as many sugars as possible and adopted a healthier meal plan. As a result my sleep issues have been rectified and I am waking up naturally around 6-7am with energy!
Over the last month I have also put in more exercise and yoga which has helped with concentration and retaining information better.
Hopefully this trend will continue and result in a better bankroll and successes in the future.
When I have played poker lately I still continue to have really bad luck. So far this month I have won a few satellites into bigger games like $11 & $22 Progs. Then play a solid game and loose with the best hands. Hopefully April will be different for me.
On William hill I continue to aim for the top prize on the SnG Ladder. So far the best I have done is to reach step 5. Tournaments are treating me better also on WH. With the smaller fields I have found it easier to get into the cash.
I am also aiming to satellite into the $1mill game on stars. I have got into 3 of the $11 satellites and hopefully my bad run will not effect me for just that day! Fingers crossed
hey can you quickly tell me how you are approaching to sattelite into the 1m (are we talking about sunday million anniversary for 215$?)
i have no big clue about satelites, but reading about how to satelite into a major tournament is interesting

There are a few satellites available to the Sunday Million anniversary. I have been aiming most of my time at the $11 satellites. I take a 2 step approach. Due to the lack of Bankroll my plan is to grind the $3.75 6max sit and go to the $11 and hopefully the main game. Other games like the $2.20 rebuy can be hard to get far in and a waste of money in my opinion.
What about Piranhas? ♠_biggrin: They are beautyful. And cutting out sugar is the best decision someone can make for health! Do you have a "cheating day" (a day off from the diet)?

I do have cheat days on the diet 
My cheat day includes having a Cornish Cream Tea
With the intro stage though you cant have any cheat days while your fixing bacteria levels and correcting gut issues.

For the last few months my outlook on poker has been pretty dry. A little like the picture in my header, a dry and very cracked land!
In a lot of my games I have been able to get far and then loose at the last hurdle (Money Bubble). For a long time now 90% of my made are being cracked by meaningless freaky hands with favorable boards. Luck is certainly not on my side.
With that in mind I am not giving up. Rather, I am going to set my goals on new horizons. SCOOP is coming up in May and a good amount of satellites to the phase games are already running. And I am sure more will become available in the coming weeks to the main events
I have a very limited BR to start with. No where near enough for SCOOP! So the next month will be a intensive prep. My short term goal is to grind the 11 cent turbo rebuy and 55 cent Turbo deep for a $11 ticket to the phase games.
I am not sure if I can unregister from this and use the ticket in other $11 games yet. Hopefully if this is the case then my next step is to grind the $11 satellites for a $109 entry.
SETTING OUT not sitting out
One of the main reasons for this path is also having some time to mentally and physically prep myself for the series and my game in general. To go back over the basics and refine my game in line with the some of the key issues I am currently having. Where is my game vs knowing my game. Plan a study goal and where I need to be in a months time. Understanding the turbo and hyper formats better.
Over the last few months I have not had a good rhythm and along with bad luck this has added to my feeling of tilt and frustration. A big element of my plan has already started by normalizing my sleep and changing my diet (cutting out the crap food). Exercise wise I must do better as I have started to slip up on it 
So getting back to it wont be so hard. To keep my rhythm I need to set some basic goals I have to achieve each day regardless of any outside influences.
• Eat regular
• Exercise 3x per day
• 70/30 Learn and Grind
• Breaks
Other than having a shot at SCOOP my plan is to continue with playing the 45 man $1sng on stars and €1 rebuy on William Hill. I am having better luck on WH than stars at the moment. My bankroll again is extremely low €14 
But I have managed to not go bust yet and have a nice stock of SnG Ladder tickets. So far I have deposited nothing and grinded around 500 WH points so far. Hopefully I can turn my €14 in to a lot more
I have decided to re entered the bank roll challenge as many of my off table priorities have calmed down enough to put time back on to the tables. Goal wise I would be happy to reach $600. Fingers crossed
Hopefully with applying myself to a better rhythm the results shall come in.

Aaaw, SCOOP is cool, should play Sats too, but have no more money on Stars, BR-transfer again? Let´s see.... hmmm, would love to play SCOOP....should I? ...Have sooo good memories. In 2008 I cashed at the 11 USD PLO8-Event, was playing almost the whole night, busted totally tired at 5 am in the morning, drank at least 3 sugarless red bulls and 2 cups of coffee... ..aaaw, memories!

Somehow I often see players mix MTTs and spins; apparently, that happens when they want to maintain a high table count near the end of a session but don't want to load extra MTTs so they pop a spin or two instead

I don't like the direction that the HM team seems to have taken. Judging by the announcement at the HM site, the Graphical (aka Visual) HUD will be available for PokerStars only (that site has third party tool limitations that many other sites don't have, in particular, it doesn't allow to change the displayed stats basing on the actions in the current hand) and will be similar to Jivaro.
The departure from SQL means that programming for HM3 will be troublesome, especially if HMQL is not flexible enough. For the PT4 DB, one can run direct SQL queries in pgAdmin if necessary, including update queries, thus transcending the custom stat functionality offered within PT4 itself.
Overall, HM3 is going to be a shiny and very user-friendly but not the most powerful tool in the market.

Once again a slow day on the tables. Lately I have been happy playing a few satellites each day and the home games. So far Girutina has started to reach a level of play and understanding where our heads up are becoming quite entertaining
Over the next few days I will finalize my plan for restarting my poker aims and direction. Currently I have spent a lot of my time working on off table elements like diet, sleep, exercise, family and many hours lately on typography. So I am excited to getting back on with progressing my game.

I had forgotten that I had entered and this was a welcome surprise and certainly at the right time!
Looking back at what formats I have played so far, Spin & Go is the one area I wanted to move onto next. As I plan to play / grind the 2x turbo satellite and hypers for tickets into as many SCOOP events, this coaching will really help, and I look forward to utilizing Adriia18 advise on my game.I don't like the direction that the HM team seems to have taken.
Since evaluating the very early beta of HM3 I felt there was a lot yet to go into the development of their new flagship. Hopefully the feedback will echo what you have said here and be adopted / integrated in to the final release. I wanted to chat a bit more about what you have raised but have ran out of time and shall do in my next post. The way I feel about HM2 currently also makes me want to try out PT4 and probably migrate over.

Over the last few weeks my mindset has been all over the place. But I keep saying to my self 'My attempts may fail, but I will not fail to make attempts again!' Its about attitude, mindset, patience and persistence.
No real big wins today, but each day I am getting closer to those tickets for around a 33¢ per game. So far I have two phase tickets.
On another note I played about 20 Spin and Go's and only down a few dollars. In the next few days I will try and grind the 25¢ games and see how I get on. Hopefully I get one table with with the $2.5k prize

Wow, you're really economical, I can't imagine myself making merely 1 rebuy in a Splash. Apparently, you're using the short stack strategy from my very long post on Splash tourneys, i.e. you register around 59 minutes late and try to make as few rebuys as possible and reach that king size addon for cheap. Myself, I'd be playing these more like satties with a $1-2 total BI if they paid 5 or fewer places.
The way they are, I hate structures that pay more than 9 places because players stall a lot near the bubble, and I don't think that investing a ton of rebuys to become a massive chip leader is +EV at all there - the value of a chip in a big stack is rather small in those flat structures, as opposed to MTTs with normal payouts. The 'short stack' strategy seems the only way to play those SCOOP sats, as opposed to, say, the Sunday Million $2.20+R Splash sats with as few as 2 tickets guaranteed that run every peak hour at xx:38.
Just to double-check - is it correct that if I unregister from the $11 SCOOP Phase 1 after qualifying for it through a sat, I'll get a universal $11 SCOOP ticket that can be used in any $11 SCOOP event?

So it has been a little while since my last post. Much has happened off the tables and I am now on a 10 day break to collect my thoughts and plans for the forthcoming months. On one side I am continuing to plan and prepare a restart of the GAPs program (Gut and Psychology Syndrome). This has been where most of my attention has gone for the last few years along with studying various factors of sustainable medicines.
With the summer just around the corner I am also planning to get out on the river as much as possible. Over the last few summers I have been stalked by a harbor seal and this year I am determined to get some decent footage as she approaches my canoe a lot and I never have a good camera on me
On table action has been interesting lately, after a long spell of bad play / beats and general poker disarray.
With a future coaching session ahead of me, I have spent some hours here and there on the 25¢ spins. So far I haven't looked at training materiel as I wanted to just get a feel for them before applying some education.

SCOOP has also been better lately and I have managed to get into Event 19 Progressive KO, Event 12 100k, Event 29 8Max, Event 39 Total Progressive KO from playing the Big $11 $1.45 sng satellites.
I defiantly have had a good success rate due to adopting a short stack approach. Some times I register late if there is a decent amount of tickets to be had, but otherwise I generally start from the beginning of the tournament and apply a strict rebuy amount. If the blinds are high and I loose then that's it for that game and it is not worth rebuying. I tend to take off at the beginning and concentrate on those who don't care about continual rebuying.

With the Phase tickets you cant unregister and use for other tournaments. But as time is getting on and we approach the start date, more and more satellites are becoming available.

I won't be 'trying to satellite' per se into the Big 11 - I like to just enter the target tourney directly and then start mass-multitabling the sats to it like ordinary SNGs when it's already in late registration - I guess that the sats are slightly softer during that time because that's when some of the SNG regs like to avoid playing the target MTT and so stop entering the sats to it, though my assessment is arguable because there might be more MTT regs entering the sats instead; I expect the MTT ones to be less proficient at the ICM, though.
The suffering given by the variance of the target MTT is more than compensated by the fact that playing it gives one the right to put in more volume and win more T$ in the sats that mostly run during the target tourney, much less before its start.
I have decided to give up on poker today!
