For the Grumpy Cat, simply pour 30ml of brandy (ideally cognac) in a lowball glass filled with ice cubes, top it up with ginger beer and add a few dashes (or up to a teaspoon) of Angostura bitters, then stir gently.
For the Punchin' Prim, combine 40ml of red vermouth with 30ml of amaretto in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, then shake and strain into a chilled martini or margarita glass.
Note that I originally used vermouth and amaretto in equal measures, but I thought that the amaretto was a little too dominant the last time I made it. I didn't actually try this one, but Prim liked it, so I'll assume that the 4:3 ratio is fine. Also note that there was some room left in the glass, so maybe the exact measurements can still be optimized.

The Punchin' Prim was created when I was railing some of Prim's remaining tournaments during a very successful poker night for both of us last year. As she got a very deep run during a $300 GTD K.O. tourney on 888 while I was sipping simple amaretto-based mixed drinks like the Godfather and the Godmother, I promised her that I would create a new cocktail in her honor if she made it to the final table... or maybe it was the last three players, or something. In any case, she shipped the tourney.
When I asked her during the run about what her cocktail should be like, she said it should be "something sweet". My thoughts went to sweet (red) vermouth, so I quickly created a drink in analogy to the Godfather and Godmother (which combine 35ml of whiskey/vodka with 35ml of amaretto) by mixing it up with an equal measure of amaretto in the same way. I later thought that it would be better served shaken and strained rather than poured on the rocks when I revisited it. Maybe the original "on the rocks" version can be considered a variation.
The idea for the Grumpy Cat or "Floxy" came just a few weeks ago, when I came across a recipe for a drink called Grumpy Old Man. I immediately thought that our favorite "grumpy cat" deserves a cocktail too, and after I couldn't find any existing ones, I decided to create my own. This one is more based on the French Mule, which in turn is a variation of the well-known Moscow Mule.
I decided to use cognac as a base since Floxy is French, topped it up with spicy ginger beer as a reference to his troll-marriage with a certain spicy ginger and added a few dashes of bitters to represent his bitter outlook on life. The end result tasted quite nicely, and was different enough from the cocktails that inspired it, which all use lime juice but skip the bitters.
I lack red vermouth at the moment, and real ginger beer is hard to find around here.

More time for poker!
Everything is closed down, shut down, whatever due to the Corona-virus. The tennis halls will remain closed, so no more indoor tennis this season :f_cry::f_cry::f_cry::f_cry::f_cry: This SUCKS, guys! This really sucks. Some projects I work on are postponed, so ....well ..... a little break from everything is not that bad. Let´s take a bit more time for poker!
It´s Powerfest on Partypoker and so I´m gonna play some PLO and PLO8-events for sure!!!
It is starting to hit close to home here, too.

Hey trolls...pardon, guys!
Another day of "Powerfest" in PLO and this time I didn´t play that well. Was card-dead long time, just picked up small pots and could only once double up with double suited acies A♥ T♥ A♣ 5♣. Could KO only one Villain and that was it.
Went pretty boring and then made a HUGE fish play. Busted with a flush which got dominated 
Yes, Kyyberi, you told us several times - and we should not "hope" we have the best hand.
After that crappy Holdem and beeing card-dead for long time, yes, this was now that "fishplay"-hand.
Gonna do it better next time!
Two little ITMs
Hey guys, played another Powerfest PLO-tourney on Partypoker and the Omaha Sputnik Nano on Unibet. Was pretty card-dead and could just survive in the MTTs. Anyway, I could somehow drag myself ITM and placed 15th in the Omaha Sputnik Nano and 72nd in the 1.10 $ PLO-PKO on Party. Well, it´s not really much, min-cashes but better than nothing, right?

Vacation soon!
Phew, was pretty busy during the last week, so didn´t play really much, only at the weekends. Looking forward to vacation. Only next week working then I´ll have one week off and more time to grind. Of course we cannot travel during the Corona-crisis so will spend some days relaxing at home. Can´t even visit friends and family :f_cry::f_cry::f_cry:
Will spend some time with doing sports outdoor, relaxing and of course playing poker. Today is my fun-day and so I´m looking forward to play some nice MTTs. Don´t know yet if I´m gonna pick up four cards, but I think so. Love picking up four cards and betting "da pot" :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:
