Also, I have played several hundred hands but still, BE on NL5.
But I was able to review another course session from the beginners training: Regular Tables Live Session (06)
So at least I can report some progress in studying.

Hi all,

I read another article from the Basic section: The Basics: Why Do You Bet?, and I must say it is not 100% clear to me. I did not pass the quiz for the first time so I will look at it later again.
Besides that, I played a quick session of about 300 hands and I must say that playing on 2 tables only is a quite different game than on 3. I can think about every move in terms of ranges and that is a big step forward for my strategy.

If there will be time tonight, I will play another session and then report my week results.

another week is gone, so here is my report:

Format: NL5 SH
Hands played: 5008
Profit: -$3.32

Overall statistics:
Hands played: 23762
Profit: $80.93
BR: $120.67

Almost BE week. The beginning was a nightmare, lost 5 buy ins in couple sessions, but it kicked me in the right direction towards more hands review and study. And the results came early as I managed to get almost all the lost buy ins. So in the end still a sucess.
Now I have a plan and a lot of work to be done.

Royal Flush
Flopped Quads

Nice -- quads and a Royal Flush in the same day!
I know that suits are ranked Spades then Hearts, Diamonds and at the lowest -- Clubs
At least that is how they're ranked in the only place in Poker where they matter -- the bring-in for Stud games.

Even so, I like the Royal Flush in Hearts the best -- then Diamonds.
(I'm not picky -- I'll take a royal flush in whatever suit any time! )

Hi all,

I had a short session yesterday I want to write about, cause it made me change my habbits!
I started as by default, opening 2 tables I selected according the audience. And boom this happened:

PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

Hero (MP): $5.00 (100 bb)
CO: $5.29 (105.8 bb)
BTN: $4.27 (85.4 bb)
SB: $10.92 (218.4 bb)
BB: $5.45 (109 bb)
UTG: $13.50 (270 bb)

SB posts $0.02, BB posts $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has J♥: A♠:
UTG raises to $0.15, Hero calls $0.15, CO calls $0.15, 3 folds

Flop: ($0.52, 3 players) K♠: Q♦: T♦:
UTG bets $0.44, Hero calls $0.44, CO calls $0.44

Turn: ($1.84, 3 players) K♣:
UTG bets $1.16, Hero calls $1.16, CO calls $1.16

River: ($5.32, 3 players) 2♠:
UTG bets $1.68, Hero raises to $3.25 and is all-in, CO calls $3.25, UTG calls $1.57

At the time when I hit that flop right at the beginning of my session I was so excited, that I lost all of my focus, ranges reading, villain analysis etc...
Several hands later when I found my self tilting like a mad man I have finally found the strength to close the tables. I did not lost any more buyins, just my confidence...

Today I have reviewed that hand, and as expected, it was not a bad beat or a cooler or any other bad luck experience. It was just a pure bad judgmenent from my side. I should have raised the flop a lot and than fold on strong turn resistance. Easy line.

So whats the story here? My game plan adjustment will be to add some sort of warm up before every session!
From now on, my warm up routine will look like this:

1) review at least 3 hands on the forum or from last session
2) open one table and play the whole round from BB to BB to start the thinking...
3) open another table and play the whole round ...

What do you think about this routine?
Do you have one, or you just sit straight to the tables?

Although you are correct -- that is a better line to take multi-way, it isn't likely that it would have changed the outcome.

The best news about your post is that you recognized the tilt and got out of there before the tilt cost big bucks

Yeah, I was so proud of myself, that I was able to close it without digging deeper...
Anyway, I had another session where I played one hand exceptionally badly, but still with excellent results. I will post it here to remind myself that I can be lucky too!

Right after that hand, I closed my tables

Now for today, I was able to read and process three articles with quizzes!

Hi mate nice job recognising signs of tilt the only thing I would add is that you really want to be folding AJo vs UTG open and trying not to have a flatting range at all playing a 3b/fold strategy and the weakest off suit ace to 3b vs UTG would be AQo. Good luck my friend :f_drink::f_drink:

I don't mind flatting to setmine with reasonable pocket pairs -- 8s to jacks.
I can also flat AKo and even AKs from MP vs a UTG open.
I'm only 3Betting QQ+ and if opponent is very wide from UTG I'll 3Bet AK as well

That is Probably reasonable but you have no 3b bluffs. I play a 3b or fold strategy only having a flatting range OTB and BB

Looks like your busy with studying the game i like your colour coding as well mines almost identical i think some people really over do the colour codes.

I used to colour-code based on the game, but since I play so many games, it got WAY out of hand.
Now on PokerStars I can't even see all my labels, since the changed to Aurora graphics.

Now it is hard to weed the list w/o losing information

As the new week is starting, here is my weekly report:

Week: 6
Format: NL5 SH
Hands played: 2508
Profit: +$19.55

Overall statistics:
Hands played: 26270
Profit: $100.61
BR: $140.22

As you can see I have played only half of the usual hand amount. I have started to play only on 2 tables at the same time, and also I have used most of my poker time to study articles and hand review. And the results are much better than the last week!
So, for the next week, my plan will be to use my poker time in a similar way. I still have a lot of basic articles to process, so that will be my priority.
