A sleepy dog? :mdr:

Okay, at least you don´t compare me with old moldy cheese (like a "gentleman" did once, he tried to make me a compliment). By the way: It was not Homer :f_ugly: _ugly:_ugly:_ugly:_ugly:

But I guess I'll stop now before I say something wrong again. :f_biggrin:

I hope Prim won't be at my table in the Five Card Draw this Friday...

Thanks for alerting me to that site!
I've read LoTR so many times I've lost count, so I just went with "I" for the ones I didn't recognize.

I didn't do the others.
But I'll come back later and do the BugsBunny vs Stalin
Drugs vs Pokemon sounds intriguing but I'd lose for sure.

Nice one, what's your score? :f_grin:

Sporcle does have a lot of good stuff, some more serious quizzes, and some more lighthearted ones, the "pub quiz" kind of stuff, I guess. For us trolls, the latter category is more interesting, of course. :f_biggrin:

Not everything is trivia based either, I've taken some interesting logic puzzles there, for example.

Should be a good thing to fall back to on a slow trolling week, at least. :f_grin: But don't worry, we're still full of ideas.

Five Card Draw Shoot-out

It looked like it would be over soon, as I wasn't able to shake my card dead spell from last night yet in our Five Card Draw tournament and got close to zero playable hands before I was about to be blinded out. The desperation equity was strong with me, however, when I was eventually transferred to another table where I happened to not only get a good hand right away, but somehow even found another player with an even smaller stack than mine:

PokerStars, $3.92 + $0.48 - 5 Card Draw Pot Limit - 75/150 (40 ante) - 5 players
Hand delivered by CardsChat

UTG: 3,156 (21 bb)
CO (Hero): 373 (2 bb)
BU: 3,000 (20 bb)
SB: 21,148 (141 bb)
BB: 205 (1 bb)

Deal: (425) Hero is CO with A Q 3 3 3
UTG calls 150, Hero raises to 333 (all-in), BTN calls 333, SB calls 258, BB calls 15 (all-in), UTG calls 183

Draw One: (1,697) Q 3 3 3 Q (5 players, 2 all-in)
SB draws 3, BB draws 3, UTG draws 3, CO (Hero) draws Ad, BU draws 3
SB checks, UTG checks, BTN checks

Total pot: 672

Showdown:
CO (Hero) shows Q 3 3 3 Q (a full house, Threes full of Queens)
SB shows 5 5 7 Q K (a pair of Fives)
BB mucks 8 8 J K 8 (three of a kind, Eights)
UTG shows 2 2 J J 5 (two pair, Jacks and Twos)
BU mucks J Q T 9 2 (high card, Queen)
CO (Hero) wins 1,697

I actually got a bounty with my close to 2 big blinds... :f_eek: Prim, meanwhile, had a decent stack, but no bounties at all. Remember that the rules of our challenge say that whoever gets the most bounties is the winner? Wouldn't it be quite a troll to sneak in a dirty win like that?

Well, it didn't stay that way, as I managed to grab another good pot later on which gave me a decent stack that even overtook Prim's. A second bounty followed soon, and Prim caught up and collected one of her own. Suddenly, we had a proper game on our hands after all.

Both of us were approaching ITM. I didn't make it after running a good two pair into trips. Prim stayed on course, eventually making it past the bubble, but still lacking that crucial bounty. Of course I railed her, and eventually, she was able to push QQJJA into a shorty who only had Kings and didn't improve. I wasn't quite sure why Prim stood pat instead of drawing to a full house, but as she told me, she thought the ace was pretty. :f_biggrin:

Well, whatever works... :f_wink: Prim kept fighting, but busted out a bit later, securing a slight profit while I suffered a slight loss. Most importantly, though, she won this week's 5CD Troll Challenge because while we were even with our $2 in bounties, she lasted longer, giving her the tie-breaker. :f_thumbsup:

Spoiler

Another HORSE race coming up this Sunday, stay tuned! :f_grin:

Well, yes, the ace looked pretty for a PLO player, it was actually AJJQQds and when the flop comes ... oh oopsy daisy :f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly::f_ugly:

That was the blooper of the day.

Anyway, 18th place for me, which secured me the win of today´s troll challenge and a tiny little profit, well, actually break-evenish.

Maybe we should give Courchevel a try some time. :f_biggrin:

Congrats on the win, now we're all even again in the Troll Challenges. :f_drink:

Snowing in 5-Card Draw is a real thing.
The problem with two big pairs is that if opponent misses, you don't get paid, whereas if you D1 unimproved pairs can call hoping you were on a draw.
But yeah, if opponent also has QQJJx the A kicker plays -- what are the odds of that?

Thing is, Prim was already all-in when she stood pat with her beautiful ace kicker - though she was out of position, I think, which maybe could still influence her opponent's drawing behavior?

I don't have the hand saved, but maybe she even denied her opponent their outs by (not) changing up the drawing order.

In any case, a win is a win. :f_grin:

New Troll Challenges and One Really Nasty (and Naughty) Earworm

I guess I really should post about this...

I don't remember the exact circumstances, but the other day, Prim and I stumbled upon a classic canon by musical genius and fellow troll Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart which is simply called Leck mich im Arsch ("Lick me in the a**" - sorry, I don't mean to post profanities on the forum, just quoting classical music here). Obviously, the trolls had to give it a listen, and immediately appreciated its quality.

We later found another fine piece from him, called Leck mir den Arsch fein recht schön sauber ("Lick my a** right well and clean"). Sorry about the embedding issues, nothing I can do about it, but the video currently works fine on YouTube and can be watched there.

And as I mentioned, I started out with a huge card dead streak in yesterday's Five Card Draw Shoot-out challenge, while Prim and I were in a Skype call railing each other. Getting bored and frustrated by watching unplayable hand after unplayable hand as my stack was dwindling down to nothing, I eventually started singing those Mozart songs in response. It still went on for a bit, so I kept singing for a while and started coming up with my own verses and all.

How the Troll Challenge turned out has been posted above, but what I didn't mention yet was that as a result of doing that, I had those stupid songs stuck in my head all day, and it was starting to drive me crazy! Eventually, it looked like I had finally shaken them, but then I woke up with those songs in my ear again the next morning. :f_mad:

They went away by the time I started chatting with Prim on Discord in the evening as she was playing her tournament grind, but being terribly card dead herself, she started quoting those songs again in the chat... I know I have brought it upon myself, but I'm afraid I may have created a dangerous running gag...

I decided to fight fire with fire and loaded up about 10-20 different tabs with some of the worst earworms I could think of (I know, be careful what you wish for), and it did work out all right... so far. I fear that posting about them here may re-introduce the problem, but Prim and I felt like this is a story that needs to be shared.

Anyway, Prim had the idea of introducing a new poker-related Troll Challenge on Saturdays, to make sure that the entire weekend is covered. I suggested Courchevel again, while she suggested PLO8. Both of them have $2.20 MTTs very close to each other on Pokerstars shortly after 9 PM CET, so either of them seemed like a good option. We haven't completely decided on anything yet, but our current plan is to alternate between the two and play PLO8 one weekend, and then Courchevel the next time.

I let Prim pick and she chose PLO8. Her bad card dead streak continued and she was still feeling unwell from her nasty infection, which soon made her regret starting a session at all today. Since the conditions haven't been the best and because we haven't even settled on anything yet, I decided to count this game as practice this time. Prim busted out missing flop after flop, Harrier mincashed, but the Troll Challenges stay at 3-3.

Unless something comes up that makes one of us unable to play, there will be another HORSE race tomorrow evening to see who takes the lead. :f_drink:

My whole yesterdays session can be told by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:

Ugh... :f_ugly:

At least we found the one song Prim might be willing to try for karaoke. Minus the actual singing, of course.

OMG -- I can just imagine learning that by heart phonetically (cuz I don't understand the lyrics) and singing it at Karaoke

Sunday HORSE Race

Not much can be said about this Sunday's HORSE Race. Both trolls were just struggling along for the most part, failing to hit stuff, occasionally doubling up, but ultimately, neither of us could make it ITM. Prim, however, was the one who lasted a bit longer, and that's all that matters for the challenge. Could have gone either way, and both of us sure wish that it would have gone a little better for us.

We both played some Five Card Draw cash on the side too, and I believe we all made a small profit, though it won't pay for the HORSE, especially because I took an early rebuy.

One of the few highlights, I think, was a Razz hand where Prim thought it was Stud already... usually, the mistake happens the other way around. :f_biggrin: I'm sure she can tell us all about it.

As for the Troll Challenges, Prim takes the lead, it's 4-3 now. :f_grin:

Spoiler

Not sure when the next challenge will be, I heard there will be a sale on Steam starting next Thursday. If so, I may have an idea for the trolls.
