That would be a small sample, though. It's possible that you just were in a higher than usual amount of situations that may have called for such a line, or that were simply tough to figure out.

But I had used Leaktracker in similar situations during my cash grinding days many years ago. I guess it can help giving some ideas were things could be going wrong. Not that I'm the kind of person to ask for Hold'em advice, especially Hold'em cash... :f_ugly:

I used to like playing against shorties, they allowed me to play more like in the late phases of SNGs or tournaments, which would largely trivialize all that postflop stuff. Then again, cash games on 888 may be an entirely different ballgame... and not one I ever really liked to play.

Yeah, a lot of times I will just put them all-in pre. I'll also shove post-flop against maniacs if I think I'm far enough ahead of their range (and sometimes I wrong, which gives us the flat red line and steeply descending blue line)

So after supper I sat down to play another 500 hands keeping in mind what my review had told me.
:diamond:  I started by being far more selective pre-flop
:diamond:  I also CBet more, and CBet more turns
:diamond:  Finally, I folded a lot of rivers I might have called before.

Although I would like to say that my review made a huge difference, it was the following two hands — against the same player that actually did the deed.

Hand #1
which one of us is the maniac?
Note SB has been playing 63/36 and after only 12 hands I have a note that says, "raises OESD post-flop"
Pacific Poker - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: $6.94
Hero (BB): $5.46
UTG: $5.23
CO: $1.69
BTN: $1.67

SB posts SB $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has T♦:9♠:

fold, fold, fold, SB raises to $0.10, Hero calls $0.05

Flop: ($0.20, 2 players) J♦:9♣:5♣:
SB bets $0.15, Hero raises to $0.45, SB raises to $0.95, Hero raises to $5.36 and is all-in, SB calls $4.41

Turn: ($10.92, 2 players) 2♥:

River: ($10.92, 2 players) 7♥:

SB shows Q♥:T♣: (High Card, Queen)
(Pre 72%, Flop 44%, Turn 25%)
Hero shows T♦:9♠: (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 28%, Flop 56%, Turn 75%)
Hero wins $10.28
Rake paid $0.64

Fortunately, his OESD didn't complete, and following that hand every time he showed up on the table, he threw a tomato at me and called me a donkey.

I think he might have been a bit tilted...
Then this:

Hand #2:
Pacific Poker - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): $12.47
SB: $3.35
BB: $11.39
UTG: $2.00
MP: $2.14
CO: $6.36

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has K♥:A♦:

fold, fold, CO calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.20, fold, BB calls $0.15, CO calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.62, 3 players) 5♠:A♥:7♦:
BB checks, CO checks, Hero bets $0.40, BB calls $0.40, fold

Turn: ($1.42, 2 players) 8♦:
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($1.42, 2 players) K♣:
BB bets $10.79 and is all-in, Hero calls $10.79

Hero shows K♥:A♦: (Two Pair, Aces and Kings)
(Pre 69%, Flop 80%, Turn 7%)
BB shows 8♠:A♠: (Two Pair, Aces and Eights)
(Pre 31%, Flop 20%, Turn 93%)
Hero wins $22.00
Rake paid $1.00

I didn't see him after that

I managed to recover much of what I had lost earlier, but not quite back to B-E
This is the entire day...

A Decent Day All Around

I played no tournaments (yet), but up a BI on PLO8 and half of one at NLHE — plus a rather astonishing Hand-of-the-Day reward of $5.00 — $0.50 is typical and $1 feels huge. The highest I've had is $10, but they apparently go up to $1000.

Because I've tightened up so much pre-flop, I'm playing better hands post-flop, and as a result, I'm able to CBet legitimately (as opposed to bluff CBetting) on both the turn and river. So my giraffe for today looks a lot better (abbreviated session today though, due to eye doctor and shopping etc)
My WTSD has dropped from 44 to 32 (which is still high apparently) and my WSD has risen from 47 to 77 << holy cow!

Week 29 Report

NL 5 still struggling, but not quite as bad.

Miscellaneous amounts were mostly Hand-of-the-Day rewards, but I'm keeping track of every time I win with the stated hand — and I'm convinced I'm not getting credit for them all.

Trying to follow up with 888 support, but they have the amazing ability to misunderstand what I'm asking.

Oh Well...

I'll hold off posting the giraffe until the upswing actually shows.

This is the "Big Shot $1" — I carried on to cash this.
This makes the first time I cashed a non-freeroll NLHE tournament on 888[1]

Yeah, OK

A couple of rungs up the ladder for $3.05

I also accidentally joined the NL 10 Snap table instead of the NL 5 and promptly won a hand with hand-of-the-day, so naturally I left.
No point in being an idiot about it

Why It Is Important

to play with a full stack
At least it seems that way...

In NL games, a short stack means you basically play push fold, but in pot-limit games, you don't have the fold equity.
Here, I called the turn simply because I'm getting 20:1 and I'm holding the nut flush draw with 2 outs to the worst boat.

Wish Me Luck

There is a daily freeroll satellite that pays 37 27.50 tickets
Freeroll satellites are an absolute gong show, but today my flips held, and I managed to shove in the correct ICM spots, and fold when necessary.[1]

The target tournament runs in an hour. That tournament pays 10 $1,050 tickets, and merely cashing in that one would complete my challenge.

[1] Well except for this hand: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3300220#post3300220 , which I think should have been a fold.

"Red" Freeroll

$10,000[1] prize pool
I had won a few small pots, to even last this long, and I'm down to 5.6 BB here.
There are about 600 left to go to the bubble, so I figured I just had to go for it — raising is no option, and folding certainly isn't.

There is also a few limpers in the pot, and it may be possible to isolate worse.
