You get points on R&C leaderboard by raising and betting. I have played only PLO, but there lots of regs at lower stakes were playing non-normal tactics of minbetting to get points. I woudl imagine that in holdem 3betting pre becomes appealing, especially if pool is as tight as in PLO.

Yeah, tbh as soon as I saw the system I figured it was abusable/exploitable (not that I ever tried to manipulate it). It's clearly not something that was thought through by someone who knows what they are doing or understands poker.

From what I can make out from playing NLHE on GG you get leaderboard points from playing raked hands. As far as I am aware, to play a raked hand you will therefore need to see a flop, I have not been aware of any rake pre-flop (rake post-flop seems quite high mind). If someone is chasing leaderboard points in HE I would expect them to call more, to see the flop, and 3 bet less.
In order to get more than $1 from HE leaderboard I would need to play approx 1.5k - 2k+ hands in a day (at NL10) - to get $1.20 yesterday needed 722 points. I doubt it's as simple as 1 point per raked hand, particularly if playing during "happy hour" but I don't know the formula (I doubt anyone outside of GG does).
I don't have the time for that sort of volume currently. I have noticed recent leaderboard winners having over 3k points at NL10 (yesterday the top 3 all had over 3k points) which at a guess would equate to approx 2.5k+ raked hands ish. Far more volume than I have the time for unfortunately!
Take care

GG poker rakes 3bet+ hands preflop

Now that's news to me. I must look more closely at some 3bet hands. Thanks for correcting my misinformation.
That would mean then that 3bet hands that don't see a flop would count for leaderboard points. Might help to explain the higher than expected 3bet % I see on some players.
Cheers

On normal tables leaderboard yes, on R&C you get +1p for Fold, +3p for Call and +5p for Bet/Raise. +10p for winning a hand. Max 20p per hand.
So in holdem if opponent fold to 3bet you get 15p, if he calls and folds to Flop cbet you get 20p. Makes 3betting more appealing than just calling (3p).
edit. on normal tables it's just a point per raked hand. On both leaderboards there are no hidden formulas or anything.

That at least is good to know!
Well, we had a big discussion about this when we were working on the beginner's guide and even have a disclaimer here in the FAQ:

On GG Poker, and only there you cannot in any way use our very basic preflop charts. They have a lot of rules that are more or less impossible to prove with certainty that you broke them, and this is one of them, so my guess is they can't say what you exactly did either - a lot of bans will come with some % likelihood, without concrete proof, and they get to pick and choose who gets the axe and who doesn't. Not being a net depositor is a big disadvantage I'm guessing when one of the wide and relatively vague rules gets flagged.
It's really extreme I believe - PokerStrategy will bring in a lot of first-time players/depositors, and them being potentially threatened with bans for looking at basic static preflop charts meant to work at NL2 and NL5 is frankly frustrating. Even if there is virtually 0 chance GGPoker could ever prove a guy at NL2 was looking at a printed chart, we have to tell them not to use them there just to be safe (+ you never want to tell people to break T+Cs of poker sites for obvious reasons.)
Wow, that's concerning!
I can't say that I stick to preflop charts precisely but I suspect that I will only have a few deviations that are in my game for a variety of reasons. When playing on Coral they provided a chart and assessed your play over the next 20 hands that you raised first in (IIRC) and then showed you where you deviated from their suggested preflop starting hands based on position.
I will at times stick to strict ranges depending on how the table is playing. Sometimes I will play hands outside normal range guidelines to mix things up a little and hope to catch opponents off guard so that would then work in my favour I guess.
I might have to check that I don't stick to specific ranges too strictly even if just by habit lol.
Luckily I am still a net depositor, never having withdrawn ... yet! Just building that BR lol
It's this one - you can see T and C for yourself

So according to that engaging the services of a coach could be prohibited!
As would independently coming up with my own range for each position and printing out a chart to act as an "aide-memoire".
Or perhaps just being a winning player and being so audacious as to actually attempt, to have returned, any of the money I have on their site.
Making a profit certainly has its problems these days ![]()
Edit : I will happily admit that when I signed up with GG I did not read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the entirety of their Ts & Cs
As far as I know, a business is allowed to reject a client always. Maybe you looked suspicious. Of course they must give you money back.

Yes but, in this case they should have the decency to say it directly. Here we have the case of a serious accusation against a well respected poker player & coach.
[...]we have concluded that you violated the Circumvention section of our Security & Ecology Policy
I wonder what is reasoning they have implemented color marking system in their software if its not allowed to be used for monetary gain. I suppose same question can be applied into their in build hud.
It's always safer to say "it might be considered predatory behaviour" than saying it's not. I get that. But still, if you are not allowed to use color codes to gain advantage, then what the hell are they for? They have their own hud, but probably you are not allowed to use that info to make decisions either.
Funny thing in their T&C is this: "However, tools or services that do not support or interact with GGPoker during gameplay will not be flagged". Does printed hand chart interact with GGPoker during gameplay?
I don't think it is about: "that player should be able to play on GGPoker again."
We cannot do anything about that, right? All we can do is to wait for the GG official to reply in this thread which they might not do, given the OP's feedback on their habits.

You are right that site should be able to reject any client. Confusing part is that GG are making out like it's about security when it's really just about making more money as a poker room. Better transparency would be better here but the message 'we ban strong players' is bad for marketing.

I've given it a lot of thought and although I was considering grinding on GG right before the ban, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be trusting this operator even if they were to restore my access (and that doesn't look likely at this stage).
It seems clear to me that they are looking to make poker a casino experience like blackjack and slots. Basically, they are working against everything I believe in as a professional player and potentially doing a lot of damage to the industry in the long run.
That all started when they got PVI to their rakeback. Winning players get only 1/3 of the advertised rakeback. And that info is not shown anywhere. Transparency was lost for good back then.
Sad thing is that 90% of players don't even care nor know these things.
