To me, it seems poker is dead. When card rooms are cheating on players, there's no reason to play anymore.

GG poker should be banned itself and I have no intentions to play there.

I'm longing for the days that poker room were taking care of players and were there for them. Now it seems players are only there for poker rooms and they don't care about us.

I have never played on GG, as an Estonian I now have that opportunity after Black Friday. For that I would have to turn off PokerTracker while playing, deposit some money there and probably get a home address for confirming that I am a real person. But I haven't had a player experience on GG. Everything teaches us something. I hear it is a very large poker network with tough players. I recently watched their new poker show about pros playing against each other, then I think right here on PS it was shown Canadian player Daniel Negreanu was coaching a former chess pro in heads-up live NLHE both joining GG, a game that I know nothing about. It is such a big company I cannot really know what they are doing, as a player of course it sucks being thrown out from a casino just because you were carrying a PT4 with you that you had bought for $100...

What's up coach,

I'm sorry to hear that even you've become a victim of GG.

You never said it literally, but I understand it you had H2N running while you were playing?

And just to add my two cents in this discussion, the main problem regarding all of this is that people just don't care. They simply don't care until it's them who's getting fucked over. The vast majority of people don't realize how much of a threat for poker this behaviour is. Just reading this thread, people with taavi's mindset is exactly what I'm talking about. "Yeah, they have the right to do that", "Yeah, there is nothing we can do", "Yeah, let's see what happens", "Yeah, it is what it is"...

It's hardly believable for me that after all those scandals people are still happy to pay that astronomical rake to these rats. Now when it's more than obvious they're banning winning players without legitimate reasons while allowing bots to grind there to increase the traffic. Now when there are superusers exposed by players themselves while GG working on anonymizing hand histories so no one can expose anyone anymore. Now when they are introducing absolutely ridiculous policies just so they can justify whatever controversial decision they make. And the list goes on and on....

While the solution is very simple: "Get out of there and play elsewhere"', it's simply not gonna happen. Atleast not to such an extent to make any change...

I think this is pre-emptive. Still money to be made. And some poker rooms have been cheating players for well over a decade, this is not new.

Part of the game is to find a place to play where you have the best of it. GG is probably not it.

It's possible I had specifically H2N4 running, I don't remember. It's also possible I had WSL or windows hyper-v running, I use this type of stuff from time to time for non poker activites.

Tbh though, I wouldn't have thought twice about leaving hand2note open. I know GGpoker were involved in some very shady bans back in the day, but I actually thought they had moved past that after becoming the (apparent) biggest poker room.

Seeing as hand2note won't even show a HUD or track hands while playing, I figured they'd moved beyond banning players for simply having something inert running.

Turns out that I was wrong. Pretty big problem for the industry as a whole if the (apparent) largest poker room is allowed to proceed unchecked like this.

This is odd how it's allowed to continue, and why poker room are cheating in first place, because how I see it, as long as players keep playing in the poker room, room is making money, so why would they want to scare away players paying rake? I think the one player grinding for profit is paying far more rake than some casual player who once in a while dumps few stacks in tables.

Massive rake is indeed huge issue in GG at least if you play mid or high stake cash games. In plomastermind they have done player database analysis and found out that in stakes like plo200-plo1k even best regs are just barely on profit prerakeback, e.g. like 3bb/100 at best. Rakeback for these players are likely very low because of pvi.

Now there are leaderboards and perhaps some other promotions that probably make it worthwhile at least for some players. But point being if you play there you really really want to look for soft tables (preferably 2+ clearly bad players) as otherwise high rake will simply crush you. But then again being picky will probably make leaderboard value lower. Possibly still better to table select heavily and neglect leaderboard? At least if it doesn't get you banned...

Trackers being banned from running is indeed also weird if tracker doesn't support the site anyway. Meaning it doesn't interact with client at all.

Hello,
I don't want to make you sweat too much but on March 4, 2024, pokerstrategy wrote an article about this.

The rules were clearly known since March 4 to anyone who read this article.
No tracker.

You're missing the point brother...

If you're running any unknown/banned software while playing on Stars, you get a warning and an email. That's because it doesn't make any (even economical) sense for a poker room to ban you immediately for "forgetting to turn off Flopzilla before a session". Unless you want to selectively get rid of strong regs...

And that's exactly what GG is doing. You gain no direct advantage by having your tracking software turned on while playing because it doesn't work on GG anyway. But if you have H2N, it probably means you're a player focused on MDA, which means there is a significant possibility you're actually a decent reg -> the enemy. And because you've just violated their policy by having your tracking software on (even if you can't gain any advantage from it), they have "all the right" to ban you.

Again, the policy is simply made to justify the genocide of strong regs.

First, I am sad to hear that coach is having troubles with GG. I does not surprise me though. I would expect him to be on a blacklist of potentially winning players which are not welcomed on the site.

If I remember correctly there used to be a warning message on GG as well. Anyway, now there is no warning.
On a side note, look what I found on the H2N Update tab:

Not saying all rooms are cheating players, just saying that unethical behaviour on the part of poker rooms goes back to the beginning of online poker.

The idea that poker room only cares about rake is inaccurate. The objective of all poker rooms is to create a stable eco-system otherwise their rake machine will dry out. The way to ensure a stable eco-system is to generate a steady stream of deposits from recreational players. If the recreational players lose too quickly they stop depositing and the games dry up.

No tracker.

Technically article says you could receive a warning, not an immediate outright ban for a tracker that doesn't even work.

Also, this is assuming I had a tracker running. I don't know whether I did, and GG have not bothered to confirm the reason for the ban.

I noticed this aswell, pretty suspicious looking 'update'. Wonder if h2n screwed up and h2n4 HUD was momentarily working. Fwiw though, I didn't even have time to open a table, so I have no way of knowing.

One point in blacklisting trackers that has no interaction with client is that it sort of forces player to choose between sites. E.g. do you play on GG and don't use tracker on other sites or exclude other sites or GG from session. Could also be one aim with that to get more winning players to move away.

It seems that they want to get rid of all the players who are constantly withdrawing more than depositing. After all, for pokersite it's just about deposits and withdrawals. Recreationals deposit more than withdraws. It doesn't matter to site how long it takes to lose the deposit, so traffic is not a problem in itself. But when traffic gets too low, even recreationals start to play somewhere else. Most likely they have estimated that they have enough recreationals, so getting rid of bunch of regs is better for their business. And they might be right.

Looks like the old western crooks. For now, I'll stick to playing home games, I think :(

Awfully quiet on GG's side so far. Could it be they are working on a solution just like with the MoneyTaker situation?

Pffffft. They are probably trying to sign Jake Paul and don't have time for your minor inconveniences.

How long your account was investigated ? At least you already know the result. I m still waiting and nobody respond me now for week , not even gghelp email , securityteam. GGpoker was my main site to play because for example winamax, partypoker is forbidden in my country. It is quite unpleasant to spend 2 months in uncertainty about what to do next . At least if the GG company respected the players and dealt with them.

Took them 3 days to issue the lifetime ban.

I would guess they are not interested in ever responding to you. I would recommend that you move on at this stage.

I see there is new news article up as well on this topic. Pretty disappointing to see someone like Fedor at the helm of this disrespectful treatment towards players.

If they are targeting “stables” what’s to stop them from targeting players who are members of any coaching site?
