Badugi was a bit of a dud tonight, but we were in for a surprise in Five Card Draw, after I was already thinking about when it could be time to consider giving up:

Whine equity? I don't know, but I'll take it.
I wasn't all that successful with the bounty hunting on the FT, but as I like to say, the only bounty that matters is the final one.
Hand #1: Cat Hop With a Twist?
We talked about punishing limpers before. I figured it was time for another "cat hop" again, though we didn't get our flush. We technically hit something else, but surely it won't be any use in a four-way pot?

Hand #2: Scared Trips?
One of the things I have learned in my previous failed runs is that you need to make the most out of those cooler spots where your opponents have a good hand that turns out to be worse than yours.
This one was a few hands after the bubble had burst, and one shorty's bounty was up for grabs. I was very pleased to see trip Queens in my hand after the draw, which should put me in excellent shape against all shorter stacks, and the big stack drew 4, so what could go wrong?
Well, his bet did still make me a little nervous. Maybe it was too timid to just call, but I really didn't want to take any chances at that point.

Hand #3: That's All She Wrote
Just for good measure, this is the final hand of the game that wrapped things up.
This one does kind of demonstrate what I meant, that you need to put your chips in aggressively if you have a reason to believe to be ahead while your opponents might still be guessing. And in a heads-up situation, aces up should be easily good enough - our opponent should be about 4% likely to hold anything better, and his chances of improving to something that beats us later on should be below 15% too.
