Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has 6♣ 6♦
fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.40, fold, LP calls $0.40, fold, fold, fold, fold
If I simply limp here, decent players will know I will almost always have a low PP here. So I raised.
Flop: ($0.95, 2 players) 3♥ 4♦ 2♦
Hero bets $0.60, LP calls $0.60
The flop is really drawy, but I have an overpair and a gutshot. A c-bet will not make any better hands fold, but a lot of worse hands such as overcards will call since the range with which I open from MP does not usually hit this flop.
Turn: ($2.15, 2 players) J♠
Hero bets $1.30, fold
Usually when people call with overcards in position, they call one street to see if they can float. If I check to Villain here, it is quite a clear signal that I'm giving up the hand.
On the other hand, I just argued that worse hands will probably no longer call while better hands will probably never fold in this situation (perhaps 77-TT). So I think I should have checked here.
