I never really knew that so now is the time to ask:
we play shorthanded,why do we raise that hand if there is one limper?
There are so many fish who play K and Q type of hands like that(open limping),so we are behind with our J,9 already. do we do that for isolation reason?
i am mixing a lot of theory stuff i think-i played today in a BB. 1limper and 4 callers, i have Q,Js. i know i will hit good draws on flop,i should probably raise but momentarily i am behind a lot of K and A hands..
It's right that passive limpers do also limp with mediocre Qx Kx and Ax hands but nevertheless you also have to take into account that you have a decent edge against 3 limpers, openlimping with around 40% or even more. So you have more hands dominated out of their ranges than vice versa. And multiway your high card strenght becomes less important. Either you flop something good or you're out. Being 4handed, you could even have AT but almost never you win just with A high.

You're slightly behind but consider the dead money you may get out of the blinds and you have to add 2-3% Equity for the fact that you play in position and you have a postflop advantage so even with a little less eq,position and the fact that you can play well In positionand the fish is chasing or calling down too much. that enough of a justification to play marginal hands like J9.
