as a continuation of my question in the lower thread (concerning contibetting):

IPoker, $0.05/$0.10 Limit Hold'em Cash, 9 Players

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with 9 9
UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls

Flop: (11 SB) J 3 K (5 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets, MP2 calls, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero folds

Turn: (7.5 BB) 2 (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks

River: (7.5 BB) A (4 players)
SB checks, UTG+1 bets, MP1 calls, 2 folds

Results:

9.5 BB pot (0.3 BB rake)
Final Board: J 3 K 2 A
SB mucked and lost (-1.5 BB net)
UTG+1 showed 3 A and won 9.2 BB (6.7 BB net)
MP1 showed A 7 and lost (-2.5 BB net)
MP2 mucked and lost (-1.5 BB net)

5-way here check-folding can't be terrible

Our hand has almost no value and we can't bet for a freecard or showdown due to our position so check/fold seems fine to me here

In multiway pots it becomes much more about the value of our hand than the ability to bluff players.

If you're up vs 2 players who fold 30% of the time on the flop the average amount they'll both fold is about 9%. This is usually more than the odds you are getting. Now obviously this will be mitigated by board type etc and player type you are up against but 5-way you'll need a stronger hand than this to c-bet with
