I like this play. especially since he is such a nit. though I think he got a bit over zealous with his KK or QQ here :) in my mind he either has 88 or KK - QQ perhaps even JJ and TT but i doubt he would play them the way he would with KK and QQ.

ok his hand was over the moon. if you wants to make a note of his play how will you write it down?

I would actually raise the turn 1 more time

Since he's such a nit I think that an overpair is vastly more likely that a set and he may be overplaying a huge flush draw as well

You lose to 3 combos (the set of 88's since it's very unlikely he 3-bets 33 and 22 in this situation given stats).

If he 3-bets 88 he also 3-bets 99+ which is 33 combos

So even assuming he doesn't bet-3-bet 99 and TT on the flop which is definitely a possibility it's still way too early to slow down with AA here and give him credit for a set

Basically if you don't lose money with AA on a low board vs a set in a 3-bet pot, you didn't play it right. If he 3-bets you on the turn it's still actually a thought as to whether you cap or not but by then his actions may just speak louder than the odds so calling down is fine.

As far as notes go, he had a monster hand and donked into a cap with it.

That's pretty much all you can say. How your opponent plays the absolute nuts is rarely going to be useful however in this case it shows that he may get excited when he hits a big hand in a big pot because the natural reaction here is to check/raise.

Seems far to narrow a range to put the BB on 88, 33 or 22. You beat all the overpairs and 32, 83,82 can't be 3bets pre. I would go ahead and call the flop, then raise the turn has it is basically a brick, SB seems to be looking for a flush. If BB raises again then I guess you have to call down from there.
