Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 8♠ 8♦

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, CO calls 3 BB, fold, Hero calls 2.5 BB, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (12 BB, 4 players) 6♥ J♦ 8♥
Hero bets 8 BB, BB raises to 22 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 14 BB

Turn: (56 BB, 2 players) 2♦
Hero checks, BB bets 38 BB, Hero calls 38 BB

River: (132 BB, 2 players) A♦
Hero checks, BB bets 90 BB, Hero calls 90 BB

I thought that the guy who raised me is RFI, so I called in order not to iso vs sets, but actually I shoud vs BB 3bet and get it in vs set, J8s.

Anyway, how would you play vs RFI raise? do you think people raise overpairs here?
I planed to call turn fold river, i dont think he shoves river with worse? or maybe hope to see 66, but I am not sure if reg would play for stacks with 66?

Hey GingerKid,

Preflop call is fine.

Leading flop is good with middle-set on this texture. We definitely don't want to give a free card 4-way.

Anyway my main concern here is the stack depth. 100bb it's a clear flop 3b seeing as opponent may squeeze JJ preflop and can easily also have 66 + draws. Flatting becomes more of an option vs the flop raise when we are this deep. However if we knew opponent would flat all worse hand if we were to make a small flop 3b this would be ideal.

Anyway, as played we should be pretty much calling on most turn and river runouts.

Assuming opponent is RFI and has overpairs - I think it's possible they will raise flop but not sure if they are continuing vs a 3b, so this may be an additional reason to flat despite the drawy texture.
