so this guys has a 3bet of 10.53(4/38 hands) and 14% vs steals. He 3bets me small and I decide to flat, thinking I'm probably ahead in terms of equity. I flop a flush draw and bot pair and decide to c/r, because I think his range is still pretty weak and I don't want to pay 2 streets and fold the river. He calls, I donk he calls again and when I miss the river goes c/c because I don't think he's folding if I put what I have left of my stack in there.

Should I have just given up after he calls the initial c/r on the flop and hope to see a free river card or is it profitable to donk here after a c/r?

thanks

Hi NezNanec

Preflop: why are we just min raising here as a steal? An aggro playr will 3-bet us a lot and then we play a bigger pot OOP without initiative.

Postflop: What range do you actually put him on for bet/calling your raise on the flop? Surely it can't be a strong hand.

Either a draw or a Kx. So turn bet is fine but river you have so little behind and the card is bad that you can't really bet again and expect FE>

preflop: I min-raise here because I expect him to 3bet a lot and I want a better price for seeing the flop. I'm also trying to induce aggression by making it look like a steal, so I can get value when I hit an ace or a strong draw. I'm basically trying to induce exactly what happened I guess.

postflop: yeah I think you're right about his range, I'm just wondering if I have enough fold equity for a donkbet here. I don't have enough experience with these kind of situations, but people tend to get stubborn when the hand is blind vs blind, and my mid-raise preflop was probably a factor as well. I think it's probably still profitable in general though.

thanks again for the help :f_grin:
