Pre-flop standard. Flop, I check because Villain has 80% FCB. I consider he is the sort of player who likes to see the flop a lot of the time but gives up when he misses. The turn card is great for me because I expect a lot of Ax in Villain's range. His 4-bet gives me pause, but I conclude his range is still {AQ-A2} so I get it in. Should I give him more credit than this?

He is really passive preflop. He migh have AA, KK, AK, AT, A4, TT, QJ or just a flush draw. I wouldn't 3bet him OTT.

I would also rather call his raise on the flop. He could have alot of better hands and if we 3bet, we are really hope that he is doing that with Ax and that he will call or 4bet it, which maybe wont happen often enough.

And why do we miss to cbet on flop?

I would cbet the flop. The guy is calling station and is going to call a lot weaker hands that connect somehow in his eyes. Plus you need protection vs. hands like JQ, KQ, KJ, AT, etc.

That's why I asked him about the missed cbet. We have a huge value bet on the flop and villain will call wide.

I've answered that question in my post. He has 80% FCB.

1. I think we should still cbet because that way we get more value
2. We have to protect our hand as said above
3. He will also have huge fold to turn bet if he doesn't hit and if he hits we might be dominated

That's probably because he calls hands like Q3o and folds them to A89 boards (and such) all the time. But here you don't want to give him a free card because he will call any K, any T, Q9, QJ, AJ, AQ, so many hand combinations that we beat but can suck out on us. If he folds his Q3o here, well you wouldn't have got much money from him anyway. So bet the flop and bet like 60-75 % of the pot.

To la55i:
1. I'm sorry but I don't see how we get more value. Can you explain?
2. The only hand I'm worried about is QJ, which makes up about 2.5% of his range. I'm willing to take that risk.
3. It is true that he would fold to a turn bet if he doesn't hit the turn. The whole point of checking is that we are hoping he will hit the turn. If the turn is harmless we will check that too.

Everyone, I understand that I'm losing my stack here sometimes, so I'm afraid that comments like "he might have AK" don't really help me. He might have practically anything. The question is how often do I lose my stack? To put it another way, suppose his range here is {A2+, KK+, TT, 44, QJ, KT}. Then I have 58.15% equity, so shoving is profitable. Personally I don't believe he limps with {KK+} or that he checks that flop with {KK+, TT, 44, KT}. If we add some FDs (which I think implausible) that will only make shoving more profitable.

I'm open to the idea that this is a bad line, which is why I posted it here, but it's not a bad line just because there are some hands in his range which dominate me.

Q3o isn't in any 46% VPIP range. Yes there are plenty of Ks and some Ts in his range, but he has AF 3.2, which is above average aggro. He is betting the flop if he has a K or a T and then we raise him. There are really very few hands in his range with which he doesn't bet but would call a bet.

He calls with weaker hand or folds a hand he would fold OTT. We still have a good hand so I guess we should bet it now. That A♥: is not so great card for us. I wouldn't be worried just about QJ. I would worry that he has AT, AK, A4,44,TT and also J♥:9♥: would be pretty bad too. Against fish your "harmless" cards, which you are going to check again OTT, often are not so harmless. Fish will have a pretty wide range and those harmless cards will get him trips, straights and flushes.

And comments like "he might have AK" are true and I don't know why those comments won't help you. If he open raises top 3% of his range, it doesn't include AKo and sometimes fish might just limp AA. I think draws here are possible also. For example that Jh9h. I also think that we have to expand his range to include AK and exclude lower AX hands since villain is not going to 3bet those very often. Lets say that we are flipping this. It is +-0 in the long run. If we take the line advised above we are making more profit when he folds and we won't have to flip for it. I also have to say that in this hand villains range was super loose. Usually when we face that kind of raise OTT I think we can't call if we don't have top 2 pair +.

PS. You said that you personally don't believe that he checks that flop with a set or same 2pair you have but you just did so also. You check flop cause you want him to hit and lure him to bet with worse hand so you could raise him. Well he might have had the same plan.

Btw: I wouldn't say that he is an aggro fish based on AF over 70 hands. His VPIP/PFR and fold to cbet suggests that he plays pretty passively. High AF might be a result of fit and fold play since checking and folding doesn't affect AF. Considering this I would be a bit scared when he raises us OTT.

As mentioned above villain's fold to cbet stat is that big cause he is calling a wide range which he doesn't and couldn't defend properly.
You say that you are warried only ftom QJ and are willing to take the risk. Why do you stack off when the A hits on turn then?
You have to cbet on flop to make him pay with all the ridiculous hands he finds "beautiful".
Any broadway or even every card 9+ can make him a straight.
