I was a playing a cash game yesterday at a local casino and got stuck in a hand. Was hoping on some advice to see if i played this one wrong.
Blinds were £1 - £1
I was 2nd to act - First player who i know and i know his range which is pretty big - raised to £4. I had KK and as this was the first hand and thinking a slow play with his big range might be an advantage just called the raise. Everyone else folded except for the last play who did re-raise. He 4x the bet to £16. The initial raiser then shoved for £50.
The player shoving could of had anything really so i wasnt overly concerned with his bet. Though i had never played with the other guy and something told me he had AA. It took me a while but even though my head was telling me he had AA i thought he could of been on QQ or JJ. In the end i thought folding KK was to tight in the spot i was in. So i shoved all in which was for £100. He ofc called and turned over AA. What made this worse was the initial raiser also had KK so i was only drawing to a straight and a flush.
Should i of folded KK? If i just called it was probably going in on the river anyway. But that lay down just seemed to big or was it just one of those hands that just doesnt go your way.
