What do you think about my line?

I honestly never think he could have an A in this situation due to how he play.

River makes me think it even harder.

Villain is out of position and if he has AA,AK,2pair, 45s he pretty much has you beat. I think he could check the flop with some strong hands and when you start betting he could just let you bet, so I wouldn't say he never has Ax here.
Then you also have to think what do you achieve by betting this big OTR. There are no weaker hands that could call you. You could make him fold QQ or KK but I'm not sure if he has those or folds those often enough for this bet to make sense.

saving a few BB by not shipping the river? my reflex is that this hand is too good to be bluffing with, sometimes (rarely) you just check down and win against some 87s type hand and that's ok, can't win every pot

Sorry i don't get the main idea haha. Are you saying that this hand have showdown value and i have to play it passivley? Or are you saying that is too good to bluff and i have to do it?

By the way, funny blog you have! And for sure, impressive results! Keep going :f_drink:

yeah, i mean that it has good showdown value and passive play is ok.
bluffing this hand implies that you are bluffing pretty much 100% in this spot, which might actually be not bad as a population exploit but i don't like it without reads. in stars a reasonable number of people play some Ax like this and when another A hits the river they are more likely to calling station

Flop and turn i would play exactly the same, but OTR i would just check back, because you have showdown value and there isnt really much of hands that beats you, but folds on your river bet. Also there arent any worse hands that calls you on river. I think villain has flush draw or weak pair, so checking the river is just fine. Of course he can still have 10s or higher pocket pairs, which could fold on your river bet, but i still would check back the river.

Are not higher pocket pairs folding on the turn? I suppose it depends on your image to villain, but, if so, you're not getting better hands to fold on the river. Even if you have a maniac image, I doubt you're getting enough higher pockets to fold--if there still are many around--to make it worthwhile.

Do you think so? I suppose that there was no small pocket pairs that hang on in a triple barrel situation. But i saw an awfull call in a similar situation from a slag guy, so i think everything it's possible at the micros now :f_tongue:

Do you think so?

I'm not sure what kind of player villain is, but generally people who 3b pockets other than AA aren't happy to see an A pop-off on the board, so, yeah, I think the standard move is to call one time/fold.
Does hero have lots of Ax in his 3b calling range? Maybe not, but does villain think of this?

Hmmm....I recently played almost exactly the same board but had air. I three barreled but villain just called down with QQ.

I probably also would call the river when I had QQ (but fold on turn bet to begin with). It's more unlikely you have an A with AA on the table.

PS. About your hand. Me to check back river.

Wow so all of you agreed in that any other smaller PP would call my 3barrell... I thought it was quite impossible given the villain was a reg.

Clearly i don't going to 3 barrell bluff in this kind of situation anymore :f_tongue:
