Impossible for NJ players to earn points?

I'm interested in purchasing PowerSnowie with the link on this site. There appears to be a benefit for "bronze" members.... but I'm not sure how I'm permitted to earn points. (and it looks like I only need one point...)

When I click on "free money" or "bonus offers" the page is either blank or for a service that's not needed.

Any ideas? (Not interested in a level higher than bronze, since it's not clear to me what the "exclusive" offer is...)

Hi hobokennj,

Unfortunately all of our free money and bonus offers are aimed to European market. This means that the only way you can get a higher status is by buying one.

You can read about the exclusive Snowie promotion here.
In short, the promotion is as follows:
:diamond:500 StrategyPoints ( Gold upgrade) if you purchase the annual intermediate package.
:diamond:2.500 StrategyPoints ( Platinum upgrade) if you purchase the annual pro package.

Regards,

okay -- thanks for the response. The link doesn't work for me (probably because I lack the necessary status.)

It feels like an odd situation to me.

As far as I can tell "Bronze Status" doesn't really give much to a user, except it lets them participate in this exclusive offer. It'd be nice to have something to bump up that one point needed, so I could use the link and get the offer. (Presumably participation benefits the board as well, and so discouraging newbies from the offers is leaving money on the table.)

Instead to earn a "gold status," I have to purchase gold status first. I haven't had enough time to be convinced of the value proposition of the site yet. I'll probably pass & buy directly from the company.

Thanks again for the response.

Hey hobokennj,

Bronze status will give you the ability to send friend requests and PMs through our community tool as well as opening up more strategy and videos.

Because it's not possible for you to sign up to one of our partner rooms due to the legal reasons, you could purchase a month of Silver for $9. If you purchased this after the start of January, you would earn 100 SPs and you would effectively hold that status until the end of February, at which time you would revert to Bronze (as you have now earned the SPs necessary).

Once you had the Silver status you could the purchase Snowie and receive:

- 500 StrategyPoints ( Gold upgrade) if you purchase the annual intermediate package.
- 2.500 StrategyPoints ( Platinum upgrade) if you purchase the annual pro package.

Alternately, if you have friends located outside the USA, (minimum 3 required) you could refer them to us and if they sign up to our partners and rake real money games or deposit on those partners, you would receive Silver status.

Once you have earned SPs, you can never drop below bronze status.

You can read more about our Tell-A-Friend program here.

You can read about how our status system works here.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Regards

Laz

Thanks again. I get it.

It just seems odd to me to pay $9 to be able to do something that (probably) benefits the board (affiliate program or something similar). As noted, I'll probably just buy directly from the company instead of tacking on an additional $9 to the cost.

Maybe I'm the only one that finds this situation unusual. No big deal. Have a great day.

Hey hobokennj,

It's not that it is unusual. As a legitimate business, we obey the laws of individual countries and until the US legalise online poker federally, there is very little we can offer Americans.

Although there are three states where online poker is legal (NJ, Delaware and Nevada) as well as two others where bills have been passed (Pennsylvania and Michigan), that is not putting enough pressure on the government federally to move.

If California were to legalise online poker, I would expect the Federal Government to move to get their hands on some of the enormous revenue that would be generated out of California.

We're genuinely sorry that we couldn't be of more help.

Regards

Laz

Hi TimofeiC,

Unfortunately you can't. Our promotions are for new accounts only, so you must choose a poker site you haven't yet registered to. Creating another account to 888poker would be multi-accounting and forbidden in their terms and conditions.
