Hi guys,

Maybe there is a easy answer for my question. But at my own I didn't found a solution which satisfies me.
At the tournament below the bubble bursts a few hands ago and hero is in the mid of the remaining field of 24 players since 2 hands because of an double up.
As shown I had no informations of UTG+1 (just 6 hands), but as default I assumed he was not the worst player.
Of course I could just call here to see the flop but with there are 20 out of 50 hands which I don't wanna see on the flop. The other option is to raise to ~9BBs, but the problem would be the same if villian calls, with every T, J, Q, A, K on the flop I'm just able to check fold.
What do you think?
Some informations: next pay-jump at 16 players (8 to go), level-time of 6 mins, structure 1R1A (hero took just the rebuy)

I would call and go from there. 3bet-call versus UTG+1 isolation range is going to be marginal at best. Fold is too weak as with 99 you can continue on decent amount of flops without set.

Calling for set value in position isn't a bad idea and sometimes you can out play him post-flop as well.

Ok but without a raise it'd be easier for BU, SB and BB to call or even to raise. Especially in that late stage of the tourn there are to many calls of small raises for my point of view. And therefore it will be easier for the blinds to shove...

What do you mean. If i 3-bet he has to fold a lot or not that much?

no he ment that you cannot 3bet call 4bet with 99 because his range crushes you due to his iso. 3 bet fold 99 is bad folding 99 vs raise too. process of elimination you call his raise.

If you have reads on someone behind being loose 3betting guy it will be solid option to shove yourself versus them if open raiser fold. 99 will likely be close to top of your flatting range so it will make sense from that point also

But even if we fold readless it won't be that big of problem as people behind should also give decent respect for early position iso raise. So there should not be that many 3bets in first place.
