PokerStars - 15/30 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

BB: 1,740 (58 bb)
Hero (SB): 1,260 (42 bb)

Hero posts SB 15, BB posts 30

Pre Flop: (pot: 45) Hero has 9♥: 8♥:
Hero raises to 66, BB calls 36

Flop: (132, 2 players) K♠: 7♦: 6♣:
BB bets 30, Hero raises to 90, fold

Results: 192 pot (0 rake)
Final Board: K♠: 7♦: 6♣:

Hero wins 192

Simple question: Do you prefer call and see turn card cheaply or re-raise?

I think it would depend on how often he donks. If he donks often, which would mean he donks with air, I'd prefer a raise.

It depends indeed on reads on him if I would call or raise.
if he is passive I would call and if he lead/fold a lot i would raise.

Raising is fine versus min donk and you being preflop aggressor. There are good and bad sides in it. Good is obviously possibility to take pot down and build pot in case we hit straight. Also we can easily have strong hands on future streets when raising flop.

Downside is when villain call and we improve to second pair it has quite bit less value compared if we just call. But that is not such a big problem when we are in position. Being OOP it gets more tricky as do we want to bet or check-call? So position gives ton more control. Getting 3bet is awkward but rare so you shouldn't be that scared of it especially with high SPR spots like this.
