Hi,

What do you think of this zoom hand? Vilain is unknown, 0/0 on 5 hands :f_rolleyes:

Preflop is a standard 3bet defense

Flop : I hit the flop super hard, i decide to check and try to get value from worst or bluffs from vilain on the turn
Turn : I just call to try and get another bet on the river
River : Here is what i think is the biggest mistake of the hand. In retrospective, as played, i think i just better call the bet and go to showdown. He doesn't have a lot of hands in his range that will call my push and get beaten. With the 3bet defend, he can have ATs+, 99+, KQo KQs, sometimes KJ if he is a bit loose. Basically, in his push calling range, i probably only beat AT and sometimes AK if he is a bit spewy (but we don't know).

This kind of spot is usually where i lose all my money because i want to get the max in

What do you think of my line of thinking?

Thanks!

I would just bet the flop and the river to me seems somewhat thin to shove as villain isn't likely calling KK QQ AK AQ and probably cbets them anyway they might call AT and then hands they might of checked flop with KQ TT JJ AA.

Betting flop should be better indeed for value and protection.
As played I would just call the river. It will be tough to get value or get a better hand to fold.

I doubt you get better to fold but the problem with shoving is you get TJs AQ AK to fold so there's no value in shoving vs those hands. The only worse hand that's calling is ATs and i don't think that hand calls 100% of the time it's mostly folding vs the shove. 44 nearly always wants to be betting this flop but if they checked the flop with 44 could they fold ? possibly but doubtful and we really don't want to be turning top 2 pair in to a bluff. Your hands not even close to being nutted in this spot there are so many better combos your behind to and virtually no worse hands that call a shove imo.

I'll be honest as played i think a river ship isn't the worst, you under-rep your hand on the flop and it is NL5. You can expect some worse calls then AJ here but for the most part i would just call on the river. His hand could be 10's or a slow played AA JJ. or QK.

I would just bet bet bet on this board with AJ.
