Hello there, so I just started poker not too long ago, and having some difficulties at micros. I opened a thread in the beginners' corner, and it was turning kind of blog-like. So I decided to to open an actual blog, hope you'll enjoy.

Here's today's NL2 metagame if you are playing at higher stakes:

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $2.04 (102 bb)
BB: $3.68 (184 bb)
Hero (UTG): $3.14 (157 bb)
MP: $1.97 (98.5 bb)
CO: $2.03 (101.5 bb)
BTN: $8.40 (420 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with T T
Hero raises to $0.06, MP calls $0.06, 3 folds, BB calls $0.04

Flop: ($0.19) 4 5 9 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.11, MP calls $0.11, BB raises to $0.52, Hero folds, MP calls $0.41

Turn: ($1.34) K (2 players)
BB bets $1.29, MP raises to $1.39 and is all-in, BB calls $0.10

River: ($4.12) 3 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

So I've been testing around with Poker Ranger, which I got through a PS promotion. What do you guys think are good open raising ranges? According to Poker Ranger, my RFI stats are from EP to SB(6 max):

9,95 - 14,33 - 22,93 - 57,47 - 39,67

So I attended the beginner's coaching, it was really useful :=)

Other than that, I played a few games, and this is the most next level play I've ever seen:

2 folds, Hero raises to $0.06, BTN folds, SB calls $0.05, BB folds

Finished another week and reached the 30k hand mark ^^

Things are looking better, but sadly, I'm still negative playing NL2 :( Looking up videos about variance and running some numbers helped me a lot, so my attitude is now a lot better.

And this is this week's result:

Still not particularly spectecular, but may the RNG god bless me :f_love:

I hope I'll safely hit NL5 next month!

This week finally in the positive ♠_biggrin:

I'm also taking a shot at NL5 now, my BR got to 100 dollars, will move down at 70 if I lose. *crosses fingers and hopes doesn't have to go down*

The RNG gods can go to hell :evil:

Flopping set versus higher set, full house versus poker, going PFAI with kings vs aces, and lose 3 stacks in a row all in on the turn with overpair/set versus flushdraw ;( The only reason I got aces was to lose against gutshots. Uhhhhhhhhhh.

Moving back to NL2 to get back my confidence. :f_frown:

How hard is it to lose 5 stacks in 3k hands? ?(
