Hi everyone, your friendly neighborhood PokerStrategy.com editor here.
Now that we have relaunched the Bankroll Challenge I have decided to put my hat into the ring and do a BR blog.
As you know I am the editor of PokerStrategy.com and the author of four well known poker books and one which is almost ready to publish:
The Mental Game of Poker
The Mental Game of Poker 2
Poker Satellite Strategy
PKO Poker Strategy
Endgame Poker Strategy: The ICM Book
Not sure how and when, but I'll probably do some sort of raffle now and then of my books to the people who read this blog.
I used to be a very serious poker player but I fell out with the game a little and only played recreationally. In the last couple of years I started working with Dara O'Kearney and have really found my love of the game again. He is (slowly) managing to teach me about modern poker concepts like GTO and it has been like I am learning from scratch again.
I play poker on lots of sites and (from this weekend onwards) live. This blog is specifically about my grind on Unibet where I play most of my regular games. I love Unibet for lots of reasons including the fact that HUDs are not allowed (not against HUDs I just don't use one and generally think that makes the site softer). The problem with that is that I cannot easily track my results. I have had this rough idea in my head that my winrate at Unibet is a modest €4 an hour while playing 2-3 tables (overall, not per table) playing MTTs and HexaPro. I have decided to use this blog to actually track my results.
Working with Dara he is essentially my coach and the book writing has been a very good way for me to improve while also doing my job, but now seems a good time to take my results and education a little bit more seriously and without having to rely on Dara (who, to be fair, is one of the greatest minds in poker I know, so I cannot complain about that).
Don't worry, if I win a BR Challenge raffle prize it will get raffled again because I am staff.
My Unibet Challenge.
My current Unibet roll is €1,635.83. I play €5 and €10 MTTs/HexaPros and have just started playing the odd €25 when I am playing well. I also play satellites to the bigger buy-in MTTs at Unibet. I doubt I will play any cash games except for when Unibet have a mission type promo.
The rules of the BR Challenge is to at least x5 your bankroll so let's say I am going for a €8,500 bankroll, which I suspect will take a very long time.
Unibet's new Game Lab feature has tracked my MTTs & HexaPros for the last month or so, so I will get the number of tournies I have played each week based on that.
