I don't understand what is it with weekends.. Is there a lot of drunk fish playing with no logic and it makes me lose or what? I lost a lot of money last weekend. This week went pretty well. Today morning went pretty well but now when I started playing again at Friday evening I lost everything I won earlier today. Thank god I understand to quit quicker this time ♦
I know exactly what you mean, I sat down at the tables to play another 1000 or so hands. I was getting called down no matter what they had this evening, everytime I was ahead they would turn/river a flush when they had 9 high on the flop. Overall I'm up around 15$ which is not bad but I really couldn't win anything tonight, no idea what they were all doing but it seemed to work against me anyway.
He la55i ,
i have you marked as "on holiday" for the Bankroll challenge - are you still in? I see that you are posting hands in the discussion forum, so i guess you are playing..
If so, please make your comeback-report here, please: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=1953483#post1953483
Thx,SvenBe

Yes I'm still playing. I just busted so I had to start with a new bankroll. I'm gonna opt in with my new bankroll to a opt-in thread? And my first report in the reporting thread will be next monday?
Today I was running pretty hot. Unfortunately I got couple of bad suckouts when playing deep (my set vs villains AA - all-in OTF and villain hits A on the river and etc..) I ended the day with +600bb in about 2k hands. I soon have 100$ in my bankroll and I'm moving to NL5. I think my br should be little bit over 20 buy-ins this time. I also think that I will go back to NL2 if I drop below that.. Last time i didn't and you know what happened if you have read this blog ![]()
PS. I hate PostgreSQL.. That little f*cker stopped working again!! I decided to delete it and install the latest 9.4 version. I think I managed to restore all of my data but it wasn't easy. I fought with HM2 for like two hours before everything was as it used to be.
Great start for this week... Yesturday postgresql problems and now my laptop won't start... At first I thought it was some kind of system failure/corruption but now it starts looking like some component has broke. I hope I'll get it fixed soon. -.-
oki, i simply mark you as on holidays for a week...
CU & ge well ( i mean your PC :-))
Alright! First week of the challenge completed again. I had some problems with my pc but it's fine now. Didn't play many hands.
Week 1
Hands: 2411
Profit: +18,12$
Bankroll: 99,87$
My MH2 shows only 16$ profit. I don't know why, but that 18,12$ is the real increase to my bankroll.
I noticed that my graph of last 10 000 hands looks different than I used to have. Usually my red line is very high and blue very low and I have played break even like that. Now the graph of last 10k hands goes up, it's about 25bb/100h profit. My red line is break even and blue line goes up. I have adjusted my river play, started folding a bit more and stealing a bit less. I guess it is working.
I hate this game
Today I got an amazing downswing. Played 3500 hands and lost 8 buy-ins. According to HEM I got AA,KK,QQ,AK less than what is normal. I got sucked out very often (flopped straight, villain flopped set -> all-in -> board pairs on turn.. etc). My bankroll was 100$ and I was moving to NL5 soon but now it is 80$ ![]()
When I played I was a bit tired and I think I should have closed the tables earlier but still I didn't feel tilted and I tried to play as good as I can. Now I'm not sure if I should quit for today or continue playing a bit later.
You might not feel tilted - but you definitely sound tilted!
If its just a downswing, then that's good news - it means you're playing well and the profits will follow. Ignore the short term swings - they happen - that's poker! Just keep doing the right things and concentrate on your long term results...
Review some hands constructively - make sure it is just a downswing - reassure yourself that you made the right decisions and wait for the cash to come tumbling in when the downswing is replaced by the inevitable upswing....
I did some stupid moves but not so many. Mainly my loses came from hands that I think I couldn't have played differently.
For example I was SB villain was BB
I had A8
Flop came A89XX
I don't remember my line for sure but it was bet, bet, bet OR bet, bet, x/c.. I really thought that I had the best hand OTR but villain had A9...
On one hand I played with AA versus maniac villain (only 18 hands but 3bet% was 40 and cbet flop 100). He called my 4bet and shoved OTF, flop was all hearts. I figured out that he is not holding 2 hearts here. I was right, he had some rubbish hand with one heart. Ofc he hit his draw OTR.
I'll do a better analysis of my biggest loses later but I believe they were mostly just bad luck. BTW I played a bit more later yesterday and won 250bb. In that session I felt like I had AA, KK, QQ very often. That was nice.
But I also felt like every time I had AA all of the villains fold
I posted about my bad luck Tuesday. It was followed by 3 pretty good days. But then it hit again today
I was doing good at the beginning of a session but then lost 2 all-ins preflop pretty much in a row. One was my AA vs JT, villain flops OESD and hits OTR. Second was my AKs vs villains AQo. Villain has A♦:. Flop comes all diamonds and ofc turn is a diamond also :f_mad:. One hand was my flush vs villains full house post flop AI.
But I managed to win a huge pot with my straight flush vs A high flush :))) It made me happy
Here is the results from this week.. Still not enough to play at NL5 but I hope it happens soon. Maybe next week ![]()
Week 2
Hands 11 568
Profit -10,23
Bankroll 89,64
Edit: I decided to play a bit more today because didn't want to end my day -7$ down. Played 240 hands and made 5$ profit. =)) I updated the results from this week..
Week 3
Hands 5 572
Profit 24,82$
Bankroll 114,46$
So far so good. Things are going pretty well. My bad luck seems to be turning. If everything goes well I'm gonna start playing NL5 next week. I think there shouldn't be much skill difference in NL2 and NL5 and now when I have big enough bankroll I don't have so much stress about it. I really hope this is going to change things for me and get my br up again. Getting back to NL10 at least at the end of the year would be awesome.
I have a bit different strategy and I have adjusted my game. I hope it will be enough to beat NL10 but if I start having problems I think I might get coaching or something.
Had 120$ -> NL5 -> 100$ ![]()
Now it might take me one or two weeks to get back to NL5... I like NL2 more because I don't have to think about the money so much. At NL5 every mistake or cooler hits me harder and I'm constantly thinking that I have to go back to NL2 soon. I hope my second try at NL5 will be luckier and I get my bankroll a bit bigger so I can play more relaxed.
What site are you playing on? If you're playing on pokerstars, you might want to try a piece of software called starshelper (free 30 day trial) which displays your stacks, bets, pots etc in Big Blinds instead of cash - that way when you move up, visually, everything looks the same to you as at the lower money, so it should be less intinidating/scary.....
I'm trying starshelper at the moment (though for different reasons - I'm playing Spins and so it helps with moving through the levels/Nash lookups) and it seems to work pretty well/seamlessly and although its a bit strange at first, you quickly get used to it.....
Thanks guys!
I'm playing on Stars so I definitely have to try starshelper. I'm trying to manage my bankroll better this time so I'm bouncing back and forth between NL2 and NL5. I'm gonna get there eventually but I hope it happens soon.

This is amazing. Thank you! ![]()
I was just about to update how tilted I'm and how badly it has been going this week
I haven't played so many hands this week but profit is -20$ so far. I lost some at NL5 and continued losing at NL2. It is not terrible but just a bit irritating. I have found myself playing tired often this week. I have a lot of school stuff atm and I'm a bit stressed. I have my exam in 2 weeks and after that I hope I can grind more and have better mental state. I was so happy about my bankroll last week but now I'm not.. But hey shit happens
