Yes, it's hard to find balance but I think for the first time ever I am balancing everything well. Let's hope that it can last this time!

Just found a pretty big leak in my push/fold game which is always nice! More future money saved thanks to a little detective work!

Tonight was THE night. Played 6 tables and regged from 8.17pm to 10.52pm.

Started with 5 $2.5s and 1 $8 and kept firing up a new table when we lost one. Played pretty well throughout as I'm not accustomed to playing long sessions so I'm happy with how I kept my cool when I began losing tables to those ridiculous beats that do occur. I lost quite a few tables on/near/or just after the bubble and then to make matters worse I finished 31st in my 3rd and final $8 with 27 paid!

I dusted myself down and fired up another 2 $2.50s instead of 1 of each and managed to navigate both to the 2nd last table. I lost one in 16th with a flip but had a nice stack going into the final table in the other.

Final table arrived and I was 2/8. The guy in first was 2 seats to my left and had a 50BB stack and 1/3 of the chips in play. There was 1 decent reg at the table and it was him, the huge stack and I that ended up in the final 3. After some exchanges the reg busted 3rd so it was me vs the guy with all the chips HU. We flipped well against him and got back to level stacks. Then I missed the nut FD and he had me 2:1 again. Got it back even a 2nd time and never looked back and my 9Thh beat his Ace rag for 1st place!

---

Absolutely knackered now with the tiredness and although I didn't have coaching tonight it wasn't a bust after all. Definitely no poker tomorrow now as I will have a lot of reviewing to do before I hit the tables again on Sunday.

Just finishing off my review of last night and I'm pleased to see that I played very consistently throughout the session. Maintaining my calm and playing to the best of my ability. Push/fold game again was very, very good. Definitely laying down more marginal hands than before and it seems to be working.

I also found another spot albeit very, very marginal that I should have folded from EP but it was lol close.

Have 4 games left to review, so it will be interesting to see how I played shorthanded on the FT and see if I played that well or not.

Very happy with my volume this week - 49 games so far and we still have Sunday to come as well so maybe I will get 60-70 games in by the close of play on Sunday. Have no arrangements made with coach yet so I'm not exactly sure what is going on there.

Gonna enjoy a few beers with the Mrs tonight and spend some time with her!

:f_drink: :f_drink:

Good luck at the tables!

Finished off the review of Friday's games so I'm all set to go again today.

Gonna remain 6 tabling until the trail period of the stake ends which is next Sunday night AFAIK. Have a coaching on Monday night now and we are gonna review my FT play. Hopefully I can add another 2-3 FTs today!

Have a myriad of things to do before I sit down to play poker today though!

I also spent a nice evening with the mrs - and a bottle of vin de supermarket of course - which also entailed, unfortunately, watching Celebrity Big Brother for a while, at least until the mrs fell alseep that is. :f_ugly:

Well good luck with the games(a mere 2 - 3 FTs? :f_wink: ), I'll be one tabling cash today, preflop stuff.

Session 1 over and it felt like it was over before it begun.

Started too quickly after eating a MAHOOSIVE lunch and although I didn't play badly or anything I should have loaded the tables slower instead of going from 0-60!

Anyways, after maybe 40 minutes I decided not to reg any more and just concentrate on the remaining 4 tables as I wasn't playing my A game. Had a couple of nice runs going and one turned into an ITM. Shortly after ITM I picked up AK and doubled. 3 hands later I was 2/25 and maintained that until we reached the FT bubble and then the FT.

Long story short I ended up winning it for another $123.31 so a very bad session turned into a very profitable one.

Going back again for another crack in a wee while.

Week 1 review:

Week 1 of my stake trial has passed now and I have to say I am very pleased with how things have gone so far.

Let's take a look at some of the results then:

Games played: 70
$2.50s: 60
$8s: 10
Ratio: 6:1

Although, it was up to me, I decided to keep the ratio on the smarter side of 6:1 in the end. I am still making mistakes and plugging leaks as I go along so I thought it would be smarter to play 6:1 and I may even increase it to 8:1 or even drop them for now.

$2.50 Winnings: $224.99
$8 Winnings: -$80
Net Winnings: $149.99

The majority of the winnings have come in the past two days from the two 1st place finishes but that's cool.

$2.50 ROI: 150%
$8 ROI: -100%
Avg ROI: 63%
$2.50 ITM: 23.3
$8 ITM: 0
Avg ITM: 20

Graph:

All in all a good week. Profit is a bonus but I put an awful amount of work behind the scenes this week. Working through each game played making sure my push/fold game was as close to optimal. I'm happy to have played 70 games, it's not breakneck speed or anything close and most 180 grinders do that in a session. It's a marathon not a sprint!

Very happy with the balance I've found as well between work life, family life and poker life. Hopefully I can use this week as a starting point and keep it positive going forward.

I will post some goals for this week in the morning but for now I'm out!

Nice week Gary. Hopefully this staking deal works out and youll be crushing the $30's soon enough!

I myself have been on a break from poker this week. Just so many hours at work :( been thinking alot about going to the 180s as opposed to CG. Got about $150 which should be enough for the $2.50's. May give it a shot :)

Thanks Scott!

I'd love to say that 60 buy ins is enough but it's not really. Obviously if you can reload then it doesn't really matter.

Hit me up on Skype if you wanna talk 180s. That applies to everyone btw.

- Play solid ABC poker and keep to a maximum of 6 tables
9/10 for the above. Played pretty well and consistently all week long. I did 7 table last night in order to make it 70 games though!
- Spend more time studying opponents in game and base decisions a little more on stats
8/10 here. Made some decisions without looking at stats.
- Play 50 games, I don't mind the ratio so much, that will depend on when I play.
10/10, played 70 games total.
- Review each and every game and mark hands that I have queries about with Mister X
9/10, reviewed up until yesterday's games
- Profit? Nah, that doesn't matter right now!
In profit!

Will post goals for this week tonight :)

Have a nice Monday!
