Dèja felicitaions pour le blog et les illustrations (que je trouve moi plutot reussi)

J'ai lu le 1er tome de Andrew "Baluga whales " Seidman (je fais donc partie de la secte), par contre pas encore lu la deuxième partie, par peur de me level en fait.

J'ai plus qu'à attendre un résumé de ta part hé hé et savoir si les conseils sont applicables en micro/nano.

J'aime beaucoup ton Hud pour les 3bets, parce qu'effectivement un collègue (Manolo pour ne pas le nommer) m'a fait remarquer que le Fold to 3 bet global (donc celui dont je me sers en fait) est clairement différent du Fold to 3 bet after open raise.

Faut que je vois si ces stats sont dispos sous HEM1 j'en suis pas certain.

Sinon avec poker tracker c'est obligatoire le schmilblik avec les lignes de codes ?

Pour ce qui est du hud, je suis assez d'accord avec toi pour dire qu'on justifie peut être trop de choses avec la stats de Fold to 3bet qui est très général. D'ailleur en allant chercher plus avant je me suis aperçu que sur mon hud j'affichais le Fold to 3bet et le Fold to 4bet qui prennent en compte les fold à n'importe quelles streets et sans savoir si la personne a open raise.
Je les ai promptement remplacé par Fold to PF 3bet After Raise et Fold to PF 4Bet After 3Bet.

Ah okay , en fait après une rapide recherche google il semblerait que seul PT fasse le distinguo entre Fold to PF 3bet After Raise et Fold to 3bet total, dans HEM cette dernière n’inclut pas le cold fold (ie UTG OR +BU si 3bet BB fold cela ne va impacter sa stat de Fold to 3 bet.Enfin cela reste à confirmer.

Nope, la stat par défault compte tous les 3 bets, peut importe la street.

Chapter XIX/ Hand Categorization, True Hand Value and Playing Postflop

Imagine three categories of hand strength:

• Premium Value: Enough equity to raise/stack for value (Ex: AA, AK in aggr games).
• Medium Value: Enough equity/odds/strength to continue, can't stack in (Ex: AQ Btn).
• Low Value: Not enough value to continue but can be aggr to balance ranges (Ex: 3Bet J4s Btn).

Ex:
- AJ premium vs player shoving any two
- AJ medium vs good player (3bet/fold is a waste with a goof postflop hand)
- 95s medium vs player fold too often or calls too often.
Categorized hand are not created equally, A6o > 72o.

Hand value influencing factors:

• Card Advantage
• Skill Advantage (more hand against worst player)
• Table Dynamics
• Position
• Image

Ex:
- AA btn w/ super active SS SB, we can just call, let him 3bet. Same situation 96s will be 3bet or fold.
- Great player raise UTG, 74s btn might still be good to call if blinds are loose/passive.
- Might play KTo Btn, never OOP.

Playing Postflop
Scenario:
Good Reg raise MP, we call T9s Btn. (100bb deep)
- T:h9:h5:s Vilain Cbet, Raise
- J:hT:c5:s Vilain Cbet, Call
- 6:h5:h3:c Vilain Cbet, Fold or Raise
- Q:c5:c4:s Vilain Cbet, Bad raise (worst draw can reraise, Best case TT fold, we loose implied odds on his big pairs, sets has he will reraise)

From last scenario, capitalizing on dead money is not a good enough reason?
- If fold too often to our flop raises = good reason to raise regardless hand value flop. Not a good reason to raise hand with good value.
- If he has dead hand that will fold flop, will fold on turn.

Floating Q:c5:c4:s has all benefits of raising and no draw back.
(If player 2nd barrel very often, can shove turn.)

When to raise flop with low value hand?
- AJ>22 on T96 (If we raise 22 we are drawing 2s, if we raise AJ drawing over cards and back door straights.)
- KQ>A4 on 985.

Scenario:
Average Player raises MP. A:h5:h Btn (medium value), SB Loose passif and BB tight (No squeezer).
Call to player HU vs Vilain or MW with SB. (here SB will fold).
- 8:h6:h4:s (Premium value) Raise call all-in for value.
- 8:h6:c4:s (Medium value) Call with over and gut shot.
- 8:h6:cT:c (Low value) can Raise (to make KJ,33 fold), can 2nd barrel clubs, 7, 9, A, heart.

Board texture works with opponent's player type

• Poor-average thinking player: Agg but more confortable playing fit or fold. Cbet many flop, fold to raise with air. Great to raise dry board.
• Average-good thinking player: Knows we don't have much to raise dry board.

Raising flop:
Board - - Good Player - - - - Bad Player
Wet - - - more balanced - - - less unbalanced
Dry - - - less balanced - - - more, unbalanced

Common mistake:
Scenario: Aggr regular raises CO, 98s or A6o Btn.
- 98s +EV 3bet but ++EV to call.
- A6o +EV 3bet, -EV to call.
Scenario: Q:s3:s2:h with 7:s6:s or KJo
- 7:s6:s Call (common mistake raise)
- KJo Raise (common mistake call)
Scenario: AK Btn, 3betted by good regular SB.
- 4bet if vilain shove AQ. if not AK is top medium value hand.
- On board with A or K, AK is premium, on low board AK is medium, on Q high board AK is low value.

Chapter XX/ Bet or Check?

Scenario:
Raise PF, aggr good call in blinds (HU in position), flop likely good but difficult to get value from. (ex: AT on Q32, J9 on Q94), vilain check to us. Bet? unlikely to call with worst. Check? Knowing vilain can X/R.

Positives of Checking:

• Free Card, can improve when behind
• Induce bluffs
• No C/R

Negatives of Checking:

• Free Card for vilain
• Face up (vilain good idea of our hand)
• Miss value when vilain C/R with worse and we don't fold.

Positives of Betting:

• Maintain aggression (more effective bluff or value later)
• Induce C/R bluffs
• Action consistent with both strong and weak hands (range merging).

Negatives of Betting:

• Not betting for #1 or #2.
• Having to deal with C/R, larger mistake.

Either strategy can work.

Value betting is betting to get called or raised by a worse hand. The more vilain C/R flop, the more we can thin value with A high and 2nd pair.

When to check back:
Oppo C/R ofter, not enough equity to play back effectively. (ex 7:s6:s on J:h9:h3:s, giving up).

Chapter XXI/ Balancing and Equity

Scenario: call btn A:h5:h, 8:h6:h4:c, Raise CBet.

Why potentially shove when we will usually be 40-45%:

• Dead Money
• Balancing and depolarzation

Player with TP when ORaiser CBet:

• Bad player: Raise TP (Look cute)
• Average player: Call TP (Can't get call by worst)
• Good player: Raise TP (Balancing)

Good player: Raise Sets, DP, Strong equity draw = Polarized Strong/Draw. By raising TP, will value middle pairs.

Scenario: Good player raises, I Call btn, J:s9:s7:c, he Cbet,
I can raise with sets, straights, slow played overpair, DP, sometime TP, nuts flush draw, combo draw, pure bluffs.
I can call with hands like 5:s4:s, AJ, 88.
= Impossible to read.

Chapter XXII/ Leverage

Leverage: Risking the minimum possible amount to make your opponent risk the maximum possible amount.
Leverage Point: Amount of money required to force your opponent into a decision.

Scenario: I Raise 3.5bb CO A4s, Btn Loose Aggro 3bet 13bb, I want to 4bet bluff to collect dead money.
4bet pot 32bb is standard practice, vilain can only Shove, Fold.
4bet 25bb same result, save 7bb so can 4bet bluff a bit more.

Ex: Good player left. I raise 3.5bb, he 3bet, I 4bet 32bb, He shoves, I fold. Same thing for 2 other orbit. Next one AA, same thing and call shove. = 0 money made. If 4bet at 25bb = money.

Leverage important vs good player. Rarely bluff fish, no need to balance, can raise more for value.
Under shoot leverage point = give opponent good odds
Over shoot leverage point = create day money with no purpose

Leverage spectrum exists in all aspects of poker.

Leverage point of Cbet: Dead money we create when Cbetting usually go back into our profit, so don't mind CBet pot/almost pot.

Chapter XXII/ Dual Mentalities

We are always against:

• A player that are likely to play strong hands, won't fold posflop easily.
• A player likely to have weak hand, usually fold postflop

Vs Nits, should try to play a lot of hands, and get the chance to stack his AA.
Vs Loose, should not fit-fold.

Dual mentality:

• Nuts Mentality: Enter the hand with hope to flop big to stack Pflop raiser. VS Very tight preflop.
• Air Mentality: Enter the hand intending to play back at opponent. Raising air, float weak or draw, several call with weak hand. VS low WTSD.

Easy Game Volume II - Part IV

Chapter XXIV/ Dead money

Two types of dead money:

• Aggressive Dead Money: Aggressive act after which the aggressor will fold his hand to further action (ex: R/C 76s, J83 c/C, c/Shove).
• Passive Dead Money: When somebody call on one street with the intention of folding on another (ex: R Btn BB call, J83 Cbet BB fold).

Passive dead money is easy to collect:
Villain calls Pflop, C/F flop.
Villain calls 3bet OOP, C/F flop or C/C flop, C/F turn.

Capitalizing on Aggressive dead money is the key to beating aggressive players.
Aggressive players are putting money in the pot with bad hands.

Chapter XXV/ Deepstacked Play

Implied and reverse implied odds become more significant.
Scenario: Raise 99 Btn, villain3bet, you call. A93r. How deep do you have to be before you don't get all the money in?

Adjustments:

• High pairs much better than low pairs (More Sets over sets)
• Suited Aces increase in value (Over flush)
• Connectedness increase in value. (Nuts straights is more disguised than flush, T8 on J93Q)

In deepstacked play Feq doesn't usually increase as much as it theoretically should. Player should be folding OP and TP more often because of reverse implied odds but it doesn't happen. So don't go nuts in bluffing deepstack.

Chapter XXVI/ Game Theory Optimal VS Practically Optimal

Theory often conflicts with emotional response and thus players often make irrational or theory-incorrect decisions.

Modo: "Trying to make people fold overpairs is not the way to get ahead in poker."
People tend to err on the side of playing off with overpairs rather than erring on the side of folding.

Against CS, same principle, bluff 3 barrels and be surprised to get called by third pair even though we know they call extremely loose.

Chapter XXVII/ Game Dynamics

The overall state of the game has a certain flow that must be monitored, the Game Dynamics.

Ex: A few players start 3betting a lot and be successful, so people start 3betting more and more. Now the games are 3bet happy. Then best players stay ahead and 3bet less, then the rest follow and repeat. You want to be leading the game dynamic shifts.

Jeu Mental: Premiére adaptation

Je suis donc sur The Mental Game of Poker de Jared Tendler, evidemment très interessant et il me confort dans l'idée que le jeu mental est au moins aussi important que les cartes au poker.

Donc il va falloir travailler ça. J'avais déjà pris pour mesure de ne regarder les résultats qu'une seul fois par semaine (dimanche pour faire le bilan de la semaine). Cependant la semaine derniere j'ai été perdant (-6 caves) et je me suis sentie misérable, j'ai eu du mal à m'asseoir en début de session avec un bon état d'esprit (appréension) et noté une perte de confiance dans mon jeu.

Mon état mental était certainement meilleur que ce qu'il était il y a encore quelques semaines de cela mais je vois qu'il y a encore énormément de boulot. J'ai donc essayé de me questionner sur la source de mon probléme.

Questionnement sur mon mental:

• Pourquoi mon niveau mental diminue pendant une session?
  Quand je fais un mauvais bluff qui ne passe pas, quand je me level donc quand je perds beaucoup pendant la session mes émotions prennent le dessus sur la réflection.
• Pourquoi perdre de l'argent me déstabilise?
  Car je m'éloigne de l'objectif d'une monter de limite, je m'élloignement de l'objectif de vaincre ma limite avec un bon bb/100.
• Pourquoi de tels objectifs?
  Ce sont des objectifs qui n'ont que pour but de flatter mon ego, je veux me prouver que je suis capable de crush les nanos à toute vitesse.
• Pourquoi ces objectifs flattent l'ego?
  Car je ne controle pas les parametres de la variances, je ne controle que la qualité de mon jeu.

Après c'être poser les questions, la solution semble être plus qu'évidente et surtout logique.
Mise en place de nouveaux objectifs:

• Améliorer mon jeu entre chaque session.
• Arriver à jouer davantage avec en A-game.
• Arriver à jouer davantage de mains.

C'est bien jolie tout ça mais écrire ces objectifs ne va pas m'empécher de garder dans le fond de ma becasse les objectifs de monter de limite and co. Je pense que la principal raison est que ces objectifs sont très concrets et facilement calculable (regarder l'état de sa BR, les résultats $ de chaque sessions, ect).

Pour changer la donne il faut que je puisse également mesurer les nouveaux objectifs. Voici donc mes résolutions afin d'améliorer mon mental. Moins de 24h après chaque session, je ferais une Session Review (SR) avec en tête les points suivants:

• Regarder chaque décision difficile.
• Estimer la variance sur les résultats (de mon coté ou pas).
• Verifier les domaines sur lesquels j'essaye de m'améliorer actuellement.
• Le nombre d'erreurs (Importante (spot de bluff, bad fold...) ou Faible (mauvais sizing...))
• Déduire d'éventuels nouveaux domaines à ameliorer et mettre à jour un sticker à lire avant chaque session.
• Noter mon jeu (ex: 80% A-Game 20% D-Game).
• Noter nombre de mains.

En ce qui concerne mon probléme à aborder mes sessions avec le bon état d'esprit, je pense que je dois contrer mon ego, je vais donc tacher d'entrer à la table avec l'état d'esprit de devoir presenter 100% de mes mains en review. Cela devrait m'obliger à justifier d'avantage mes lignes et plans d'actions.

Et à nouveau pour que cela soit concret je vais poster mes SR (sur ce blog) avec mes mains difficiles, même si je sais pertinament pourquoi j'ai mal joué.

Merci pour tes encouragements! Pour ce qui est de la NL50 mes objectifs ont changés :D, les montées de limites se feront quand elles se feront, je vais me concentrer sur ameliorer mon poker et jeu mental, le reste suivra.

Pour ce qui est des illustrations, c'est effectivement les miennes. J'ai récupéré une tablette graphique que mon frêre a laissé derriere lui et j'ai voulu m'essayer. N'ayant jamais dessiner auparavant je suis plutôt satisfait du résultat même si ce n'est pas au goût de tout le monde

C'est en tout cas, vraiment EV+ de le faire.

Pour gagner du temps, tu devrais le faire sur papier libre, pour toi, et pas t'embêter à le faire ici, sur le forum, avec les couleurs etc... Mais ça t'oblige peut être à être régulier ?

En ce qui concerne les sessions review, ca va être dur mais je me rend aussi compte que pour l'instant je faisais des sessions review, voyait que j'avais mal joué et 3 jours apres j'allais recommencer le même play en trouvant une nouvelle escuse.

Il me faut donc un systeme pour digérer ce que j'apprend et puisque j'ai apparement quelques problêmes d'égo je vais m'en servir comme une force et poster mes SR ici en montrant mes horreurs. Et si je veux pas montrer d'horreur il faudra que je joue mieux

Oui c'est du boulot mais à mon avis c'est ce qui va me faire progresser 80% plus vite que si je continue à faire mes petites SR dans mon coin.

Sinon, comme tu auras remarqué je me sert de ce blog davantage comme mon carnet de notes qu'autre chose. Donc finalement mon papier libre c'est mon blog et j'aurais un travail d'archivage plus facile que sur papier.

Puis tout ça va se roder, je prendrais de moins en moins de temps à ecrire les reviews.

Mais oui il y a un gros risque que la masse de travail soit trop importante, on verra ce que ça donne dans les prochains jours
