I think it's a big mistake to not 3bet this spot pre flop. Villain has 55bbs stack and he's opening from SB, very standard 3bet/stack off with TT.

Flop it's fine to check back although I would bet

Turn good.

River I suppose the bluff shove is fine since villain should not check flop with a lot of FD and you block flushes and 9T.

But the main point of this hand is pre flop for sure.

Why is raise river EV better than call? Our hand has good blocker effect, so we can bluff catch him.
I agree that he bets most draws on flop, but hero also bets most on flop, so we cant say that villian will fold his top pair+ hands vs raise, and if he folds only bluffs then clearly call EV is much higher than raise. If he folds decent amount of value hands, then raise EV should be just slightly +EV. So call EV will be probably around zero ev, and raise ev can be from big minus EV to around small +EV. thats qhy i would call here, fold is perhaps the safest EV.

If i were be SB, i would think, he is not reping much and is agro reg, so i would call all my bluff catchers.

I dont think villain is foldong a q all that often since he is a fish. So shoving is probably lower ev than calling based on this assumption.

If he folds a ton of QX then shoving > calling.

And since villian is fish, never bluff the fish! If he is agro fish, never fold bluff catcher. Imo it is so simple vs fish, unless we have specific reads. It seems that he is agro considering wide open raise range on SB. Imo you have enough sample to see if he is agro or passive fish for postflop, which you didnt provide in post.

Vs which villian categories it is ok to raise? Tight will be able to fold value hands but he might be value betting only flushes as it is the case in pokerstars for most regs. Bluff heavy villian? It still depends if he folds enough. Weak reg should be good, and vs good reg i guess should be also slightly +EV because of blocker effect. It seems to me very hard to determine if raise is ev>0, it is only surely vs player who defends according to nash frequency. I guess stats are almost useless in most cases, we cant have enough sample to know if he is folds enough in this spot.

The problem with hero's line is that he is not repping flushes and straights very well since he didn't bet the Flop. Unless he is known for checking back draws fairly frequently.

Which would make bluffing here a poor decision.
