Hey there guys,

So... I guess it was standard play until the river, but what do I do next? Is it ok to shove? Should I've checked/called? Bet small/call?
I would appreciate your help with this :f_grin:

I supose we could bet flop and turn bigger to better set river shove, but I think we can't get out of it at any point. Standard, I would say.

Well, 88 and 99 are in his cold calling range, so are many Kx hands. Do you have any reads/stats on villain? Vs fish I think your line is fine, vs unknown I think maybe it is better to check.

Isn't 1/2pot cbet on 3bet pots quite standard? If we shove river, would villain call with anything worse?

Hi, hexAcove,
Disclaimer: I am NOT a coach!;

For this, I would bet larger on Flop.

When the board pairs, it really bites, since you hand suddenly becomes a lot more doubtful.

Maybe x/c turn?
Your hand has too much equity to fold, so you might as well bet.
Problem is, villain will never fold better, and there is a lot of "better" in his range.

As played, I don't might the river shove. It is less than pot size.
However, what worse will call such a large bet? A few weaker Kings maybe.

I hope you noted that he can call a shove with a mere overpair.

Cheers,
VS

I think we do not have a bet on the river.
weaker Kx will not call river bet.

Yes, it is standard, but this does not mean you should do it always. If your goal is to go AI by the river, you can make a little adjustments in your bets, so it will leave youon river with something like a 2/3 bet.

So pretty much always when we hit TPTK+? Wouldn't this make us exploitable?

Not TPTK+... When you decide to go AI ( with whatever hand you do it, it depends on the game, table, villains, notes, etc.) you can make little adjustments and not bet 1/2 pot but 55-60% pot. We are talking not making it 2/3-3/4-or pot...
No this doesn't make us exploitable.

If we bet bigger than 1/2pot every time we want to go all i, it will make us exploitable eventually. It is very unlikely that anyone at micros will pick up this sizing tell though. Ps. Do we want to go all in here with TPTK vs unknown?

In this particular case I do not want. But that is my opinion and it may not be right.

Thanks for the feedback guys :f_drink:. I had little info about the villain's post flop plays.
Now that I think about it, I would play the same spot by check/calling. I don't think I would ever fold there. This is the range I came up with for the villain:

Board: K♥9♠8♣ 9♦ 6♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
MP2    52.78%  44.44%   8.33% { AdKs }
MP3    47.22%  38.89%   8.33% { QQ+, 99-88, AKs, KJs+, 98s, AKo, KQo, 98o }

I think the best line would be x/c. If I bet, I'd never get called with a weaker hand, so I should probably just let him bluff his weaker hands like KQ, KJ, maybe QQ cause he didn't seem very open to folds up to that point .
Please correct me if you think I'm wrong.

I think about it this way: Why would he bluff hands like KQ, KJ or QQ? I also don't expect him to value bet thinly with those. With checking we are just letting him to check back and get a cheap showdown. I believe he would rather call with those hands than bet himself. Having said that, maybe betting small, like 1/3, would be an option to get thin value from hands like weak TP's and 2nd pairs which are maybe folding to normal size bets (although, it's weird to bet with a normal size at this situation, as played) and probably folding vs a shove. Then we can fold to a shove because I don't expect him to bluff or value shove worse almost ever. What do you, guys, think about that play?

Yeah, you've got a point here. He'd probably never bluff on the river. Good play man _thumbsup:. Probably the best advice. I took a note of it, haha :f_biggrin:

I like your line here, but I aslo like x/calling OTR. Depends on the opponent. A lot of opponent will check back most of their range here, they wouldn't bluff if their not complete maniacs.

With your sizing each street u comfortably push river so no need for bigger bets otf and ott imo. You have like 3rd best hand in your range so bet,bet, push seems fine enough to me.

Preflop:we must ask question . with what he call the flop? answer would be Kx,9x,JT
Flop : his 9x range trips and his Kx is even weaker now
turn : fine
river: he misses straight with JT and his Kx is not strong enought for calling such big bet .he will call us in most casses with 9x range.
