I dont mind the river call i guess you could make an exploitable river fold though. But ye three way on a semi wet flop i think 1/3p is on the small side. Id bet larger more towards 3/4p typically here. Your going to get paid by Ax and flush draws at least one street

Sizing on the flop is indeed to small I think. You can easy bet like 10-15bb against 2 passive villains for value and protection. That's the same for the turn. Than you can easy bet 60% pot or more. As played the river is nasty, but I doubt a fish would donk shove with only a pair and is folding better I think. Don't forget to remove the outcome of the hand next time or do it in a spoiler.

Cheers,

Preflop 3bet size is too small.
Flop ok, turn go bigger.
River is call is fine, although this line is usually too value heavy. You don't block any flushdraw, so I can live with this call. AA/JJ/AJ are the strong hands you have, AK is close to the top too.

Agreed,
However, what 3Bet size do you use?
I tend to use 3x the open raiser's bet -- so in this case 7.5BB -- and if I have players behind that I want to fold, I add 1 BB

I agree with vorpal, make a bigger 3bet pre.
Deffo bet bigger on flop. 60-80%pot. It's multiway, you need at least 1 hand to fold
Turn same, bet bigger.

River is a fold to me. His range is too value heavy

Ez River fold for me. If villan checks - ez shove for value.

As played, I always bet bigger on the flop and jam turn myself on a blank. If they have an Ace they call - if they have a draw you give them awful pot odds.

I would understand your bets if there wasnt a flush draw on the board and it was dry.

I agree that the flop bet should have been 3/4 or full pot with TPTK. The BB who had the best possible flush draw played well. The MP Winner played poorly. I would not have called the Flop and Turn with a pair of sixes and weak 8 high flush draw. In fact, I would have folded 86s preflop. You lost a cooler to MP who played poorly. When the third club did not land on the River, I would be feeling pretty good. Your River call is fine. It is really hard to fold TPTK without a board flush scare, paired board, or straight scare board. But, TPTK is a very vulnerable All In Quality hand. Don't worry about this hand. You played well and lost to somebody who played poorly. No big deal. That happens in poker.

no way you can fold 486 of clubs preflop with those odds, i don't trust your poker advice srichards.

PF bigger to at least 8, you want to take value from your premium hand and you don't want to end up in a MW pot. OTF I like it! They'll fold to any bet if they don't hit this board and they will never fold a FD, set, 2pair, ace, you cannot protect your hand, so it's better to keep the pot smaller, will be easier on later streets. OTT now bet bigger. OTR fold, it's unlikely that he is betting his busted draw vs 2, and even if he does there is still a player after you that might have you beat.

I respect different winning styles. One of my favorite aspects of PokerStrategy is to learn different techniques. Some winners are tight, others loose, some aggressive post-flop, and others are patient. Only thing that really matter to me is win rate. Perhaps, you should grow and recognize that different winning styles exist. Or you may remain close-minded. What is your bb/100 win rate?

sorry than, keep your strategy. i'll wait and take your money. _evil:
i don't follow my bb/100 winrate because I play mostly tournaments, many bounties included and find it sort of useless as such.

but since you ask, here are this years stats from the tracked sites:

SB play was recently improved and I'm glad to see such low lossrate.

Just out of curiosity, how did you manage to play almost 100,000 more hands from MP than from BTN?
Or am I missing something obvious again?

Cheers,
VS

notice there are only 6 positions in the report.
MP is hi-jack + lo-jack combined, same for EP.

It is difficult to win money from a tight, patient, full ring player. We play different games. I could not beat you in tournament play. I assure you that you cannot beat me at my full ring cash game. 40,000 hands at 10 bb/100. You would be out of your league if you joined one of my full ring cash games. Stick to tourney play; you seem to be good at that.

so did you say you'd fold the 86 vs 3bet, or not open in the first place?

Deffo not open 86s preflop and seeing your (drinkmorewater's) MP's vpip of 16%, you are no where near opening 86s from MP either.
Calling the 3bet with 86s thou, is imo a must in this situation.

I am pleased that Turok noticed that drink would also not open 86s from a MP position considering his 16% VPIP at MP. Now, should MP call another 3.5 BB to win 18.5 BB (19%)? Well, I would never be in this situation because I would Check/Fold 86s. Let’s pretend I hit the wrong button (Raise instead of Check) and I had to decide to make this 19% call with 86s. Well, it is reasonable to call at 19%. But, I would kick myself for hitting the wrong button and fold. If you play this hand, it would probably require more chip investment at the Flop and Turn. If we look at the Turn, we can understand why I would not call. MP has an 11% chance of winning. If a third club comes at the River, BB has a better flush than MP. MP only has five outs to win this hand. With 86s preflop, I don’t need to see the Flop and Turn to know that 86s will most likely be in a very weak position at the Turn. I REPEAT my initial analysis. LeMahdi played this hand well. He simply lost a cooler to a very lucky MP who played poorly.

- Preflop sizing is too small. Giving V great odds to call with 100% of his range. Make it 7.5bb (or 3x) IP next time, and V has to fold some hands.
- Flop CB is also too small. Against one opponent 25 - 45% is great, but against two your hand is vulnerable, so I would opt for 50 - 70%.
- OTT I would check back for pot control, both V's called which is very suspicious - you should expect one of them to be slowplaying some percentage of the time. And AJ improves to 2P, which can be in either players range.
- River call screams strength, he can have a lot of 2P's and sets, I doubt he's jamming 1P or missed draws here into two players. I would fold river
