NL25 Misplayed river? 88 OOP

Villain is probably a whale so he can have some 3's in his range. I fold river as fish and even regs dont usually call flop and turn then raise river as a bluff. Also, i raise bigger pre, maybe 1-1.25.

I agree with kevin, at least 1$ preflop.
Bet flop and turn is good imo, maybe slightly larger sizings.
I don't think we are ever good when he raises us OTR.

I think pre-flop raise size is fine. 88 is strong hand that always have showdown value and we don´t want him to fold marginal hands pre-flop.
I think that river valuebet is a little thin. He might call you down 77, but you´re too often valuetowning yourself against Qx, that might check back if you check river and you don´t let Ax or gutshot hands to bluff.
So my usual line would be c/c river. Once you bet and he shoves it should be fold, since I have not seen players make this move with air and usually they are 3x+
