IMO for the information, you provided, your play was correct.

I will assume that CO is a classic ABC Player/TAG in micro stakes cash game, like most of the grinders. These kinds of player don't like to bluff in too many spots and after Hero bets, two streets for value I am pretty sure opponent isn't bluffing. So only hand you can beat here are QQ.
I would assume that opponent is holding pocket eights or maybe AJ, but if I had to choose I would say 88.

Folding is fine. You beat nothing from his value range. QQ would just call your turn bet and would not shove.

This is 77/88/Jx most of the time and i would say nice fold.
