UTG is 18/16 over 410 hands, opens 8% UTG and folds 76% to 3bets.

Decided to flat here and play IP since he seems really tight and people behind seem relatively tight. I don’t think 3betting is a bad idea – maybe it is better, but I just felt like he will be folding quite a lot and when he 4bets I can’t stack off with QQ.

When he cbets this large into 2 I think his range is JJ, 88 and KK+ pretty much – maybe also something like AK with a :club: or something.

So I raised for value but I was timing out and my sizing is off – should have made it ~$4.50 or so because I just want to get the money in. I don’t expect him to fold KK+ with a :club:, and the only flush he can really have imo is AcKc.

BTN: $38.67 (193.4 bb)
SB: $19 (95 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q Q

BU is 19/19 over 30 hands and I don’t have any other info.

Problem comes when he raises my cbet – I’m fine just firing away myself but I don’t think he will raise worse than AT here. I didn’t really know what to do… don't know if folding is okay, if I 3bet and get it in then he won’t have a worse hand than me imo and if calling is alright then I don’t know what my plan should be…
- Call flop, hope he checks back turn but fold if he bets?
- Call flop & call turn, fold if he barrels river?
- Call flop & call turn, call river as well otherwise we should have folded the turn?
- Fold flop?

So anyway, I probably played it like a fish (had the right pot odds on the turn anyway!) and got there on the river. I think if the turn was an offsuit 8 then I would probably just fold. On the river I figured that I should also take the fishy line of donking because if he has a set, straight or worse flush then it’s quite possible he’ll check behind. Since I don’t want a check behind I think my donk is okay. I think there are so many hands he won’t fold.

BB is a complete unknown so I have no info on him but once he donks the flop I think we can call him a fish.

Nice flop, he can have some pair + FD that donks like this and I cannot let them see a turn at that price so I raise big for value.

Problem 1 comes on the turn – I’m really not sure wtf he’s doing but from what I’ve seen in the past this line is relatively weak. At best I think he has something like KQ, KT, QT, maybe J9 with a heart and maybe some AQ AT or something with a heart. I think this line is sort of like a block bet to try and see a cheap river either with a relatively weak hand or a FD. For that reason I really should have raised the turn. At the time I just thought I’d go into calldown mode but I think it’s a pretty bad plan – I should be trying to get his money now.

Problem 2 is on the river when he ships like this – and this wouldn’t have happened if I had raised the turn. Not sure what I should do now… since I need to be good 35% of the time I think I have to fold. hard to see a worse hand that will ship the river.

BB is unknown again so no info, but looks like he’s probably a fish.

I can see arguments for both checking and cbetting but here I went for the bet on flop and turn (turn sizing was a bit optimistic I think). River bricks imo, but I can’t really see a worse hand calling 3 streets so I checked without a plan as usual. Ofc he sticks it in and I hate life, but in hindsight his range is pretty much Jx or air – I don’t even think some better Kx hands like KT or KQ will bet the river (might be wrong about that).

So when he gets it in I sigh called. But I don’t actually mind the call now because I think Jx will raise the turn for value + protection. I don’t think I considered that at the time though so the call felt really fishy when it happened.

-----

BTN was 29/12/17 over 18 - aggressive unknwon.

FLOP
Went for a check/raise. Villain insta 3bets.
I think that I have no FE vs his range and the most +EV would be to just call and hope to hit OTT.

If I shove I can realize my full equity, but I would put more money in as an underdog. If I call I may or may not have some implied odds OTT when I hit (if I hit a J I'm sure I can get villain's stack, with a flush it would be more difficult).

Board: 9h3h8s
Equity Win Tie
BU 68.48% 68.48% 0.00% { 99-88, 33, AhJh, Ah8h, Ah7h, Ah6h, Ah5h, Ah4h, Ah2h }
BB 31.52% 31.52% 0.00% { QhTh }

So I think that even if my hands is face up OTT I end up with a better EV by calling rather than shoving.

TURN
My equity improved and I beat flush draws now. At the time I didn't realize, but if villain continues with FDs I'm committed OTT :f_confused:

Board: 9h3h8sTc
Equity Win Tie
BU 54.12% 54.12% 0.00% { 99-88, 33, AhJh, Ah8h, Ah7h, Ah6h, Ah5h, Ah4h, Ah2h }
BB 45.88% 45.88% 0.00% { QhTh }

Hey guys,

For some reason my coaching has mysteriously changed times from 10:00 AM EST to 2:00 PM EST.

It also has a conflict with another coaching.

I just noticed this now (when a student pointed it out) so I'm not sure if it can be changed. I will try.

If not I guess I'll see you in a few hours.

Flop cbet. He can call with draws but with draws he is most likely betting anyway and I dont miss value. But other than draws - there is no hands which pay me.

So maybe its a wrong cbet?

CO vs BB on Axx I think I will get lot of light calls, so I dont cbet with no equity.

His bet on turn looks weak, can be lot of air, but still without equty I guess fold is not too weak.

flop - on this board better hands will never fold. SO another option is to bluffcatch. Probably c/r will not make better hands to fold too often.

Turn fold is not too weak?

Flop - I guess this can be a c/r for value, his bet really looks weak and he can easily do this with draw. On the other hand - I heard suggestion about calling flops vs minbets and raising turn - it will look stronger.

Turn - decent card, again small bet, bit bigger, but that line I see often from them once they minbet flop - they bet small but bit bigger. So raise with my outs.

River bet for valy, but once he raised I think its 100% flush. It hurts to fold but calling probably is donating money.

I want to analyze the actions on the turn.
I had very good pot ods to go all in on the turn.
I usualy do this move very often because I take into account the fold equity that I hope I have.

Do you think it is ok to go all in on the turn ?
