I recently took a look into Boomer2k's "Micro Surgery" series and I have a question to the following hand. It's from MS Part 9 - Midterms Part 2, minute 14:30.
Situation:
Hero in SB with KTo, pretty new to the table (think it was almost an orbit through). BN (unknown) opens with a raise, Hero 3bets.
Heads-up on a 543r flop. Boomer2k says that this is a pretty bad flop for us, but he will double barrel 100% of the time against the passive player.
Question 1 to Boomer2k:
Because of only 2 hands showing in the hud, do you have a certain standard assumption on unknown players at the small- and microstakes to be passive?
Question 2:
As what a kind of bet would you define the 2nd-barrel?
For me I can't see the bet working as a bluff, because there will hardly fold an ace and if KQ or KJ will fold is questionable to me.
Against a "normal" button opening range we will also not have a clear value bet. There are far more Ax hands in his range than hands that we are ahead of and which will call. e.g. x7, x6, few x2. Do you believe he will call Tx or Jx?
Saying this I can only see the reason for the 2nd barrel in protecting our hand in a large pot vs 6-outer and the few draws that we are still ahead of.
Is this conclusion correct or did I miss something?
Question 3:
Let's say Villain calls again on the turn and the river blanks, what's your plan then? Against a player who sees his ui Ax always behind vs a higher Ax a 3rd barrel may be a good idea. But against an unknown, most likely too loosely calling opponent a bet won't do any good in my opinion.
Because of not being a native speaker I hope I expressed my questions in an understandable way.
