Thoroughly enjoyed it, a big eye opener - the only shame was that we didn't run so well and my internet connection!
Defo up for another go! Hopefully you will see improvements ![]()

More promotions!? congratulations sir, well deserved I have no doubt.
Nasty news about that crash though, a bus definitely not good to be getting hit by. Just glad that family are ok and looking forward to the pics.
Have fun and I'll catch you later. ♠_love:

after running about 60BI under EV over 100K hands. I had to have a change of scenery. (given that it took me about 6 month to get those 100k hands)
so SNGs it is for now
I managed to only play about 160 SNGs this weekend and ended up with a small loss
but things are good. I stay tilt free most of the time and I enjoyed playing.
I probably gonna play a bit this week and probably as well gonna take a break over xmas so I probably wont reach the 500 SNGs nor the 10% ROI targets for the month ♦
but anything is still possible
I almost finished my 200% bonus as well with 2 days still to go and only about 20 SNGs still needed.
First of all Happy New Year (better late than never init)
I started the new year with a bad cold and I am just starting to recover but spent Christmas and the holidays feeling miserable.
I had not play poker for close to 2 weeks when I have had a session each of the last 2 days. I think poker gonna really take a background place this year in my life.
It had already become only a recreational hobby but it will, I think, take less of my time as I probably will have less spare time and different activities to fill this spare time.
My plan is to make 2014 a pivot year in my life where i make a lot of changes to improve it a lot.
This is my new year resolution but rather than changing everything at once stagger them so that.
The first few changes that I have made are:
- Quit smoking ( yes, again!, I know)
- Exercise (at the moment push ups, sit ups and back exercises, and I will add to that as the week goes and eventually the plan is to join a gym)
- Dress code change (Over the years I have pretty much become a "Jeans, Tee-shirt, Trainers" kind of guy, the "IT guy" :P. I have now assumed now the position of Technical Director at work and decided to switch to "trousers, Shirt, Shoes" dress code.
future changes will probably include diet changes, exercise plans, daily activities changes
I was planning to post a few pictures but I have a new laptop with windows 8 and it has some access control issues and I can't access my phone on it as well as HEM2 and a few other software. I am working on resolving it.
Finally it looks like I will have a poker column on one of our sites. It probably will be pretty basic but fun nevertheless. The first entry was posted, I can't link to it though as the site offers affiliations to a poker site.
that's it for now
Quitting smoking and all that exercise stuff go hand in hand. If you find it difficult to give up the smokes you need to keep very very busy. You don't need to go cold turkey either. If you really really really need a smoke, have one, then when you don't need it any more, put it out. You will be surprised at how quickly you get down to 1/2 a smoke or a few puffs.
I also suggest changing routine, but perhaps change just one where you smoke during and not trying to change all situations at once if it's too tough.
Sorry for the waffle but I was a pro and I hate smoking. Anyway, I know you have a good solid mindset in your head (as opposed to my head which is just solid) but if you need assistance you know where I am.
Take care and have fun wearing a suit!
As a former smoker I would suggest going cold turkey - as it was the way that I managed to do it. I was really motivated at the time though (wife was pregnant and had also stopped) so I guess it was a little bit easier (having a goal)
Happy new year Mr. Technical Director!
tested the dual monitor by 12 tabling today and I seem to manage it fine.
i took a $50 bonus yesterday after finishing my session and cleared %20 of it already today.
Hi good luck with your plans.
I stopped smoking two weeks after the smoking ban.
I also previously had multiple failed attempts.
I read stuff by Allen Carr and I agree the only way is cold turkey.
Go for it its +EV for sure.
Mark
thanks for the words of motivation Mark
5 days in the non smoking already.
from the coming week I also gonna stop junk food / fast food.
In the first week of not smoking I compensated with a lot of it.
I played an other session that did not go well I all. I ran awful.
I think I gonna switch to speed poker. iPoker have removed the $ tables for the type of sngs i was playing and it messed up my brm completely.
But still smoke free otherwise.
