Hi I am Raymond from the Netherlands
I want to sign up for the course.
I have been playing since 2008 but I played on and off. I played for fun in the beginning and later I decided to become better to make money with it. I learned preflop game wich was quite easy. But on average I was not winning and not losing money and i decided to stop because it took me too much time and it didn't bring me anything.
In the end of 2010 I decided to get serious. I installed HEM trial and wanted to focuss on my stats with full tilt rush poker. I played on my small netbook (thats why rush poker) and I just started a travel for one year through South east Asia. In this trip I wanted to develop my poker skills.
It went great and I was winnig, but after two weeks I lost all my winnigs bcause of a bad day wich was caused by a bad beat followed by a lot of bad emotions without a stop loss.
I figured out that travelling was sorrowless and poker brought me sorrows so I decided to not play anymore and took my money back after it was frozen for a month in 2011 because of the full tilt drama in that year.
At the end of my travel i was adviced to sign op on pokerstratey by a German who I met in Bangkok. He learned a lot from it and made good money with ICM he told me. I was returning home, had no job yet, enough time and making money with poker and find a parttime job sounds good. I still live poker and I still have this dream. So i decided to sign up on pokerstrategy and start again.
I read a lot of articles and played a lot. Made some money and lost some but still no big profit. Maybe I wanted to become a pro too soon and make money very quick. Maybe I thought the time investment wasn't worth it. Again I had my emotions. But again I gave up after a couple of months. So I stopped again.
I played sometimes in a local bar and was winnig some money, That was fu and oke. I like to play live. The casino limits unfortunately doesn't fit not in my Bankroll management.
NOW!! in 2013 I started a new travel to Australia. I will be in Australia for one year. And again I decided to bring my pokerskills to a new level. Cause when I come back in my home country, I want to be good enough to add some monthly money to my salary from a part time job that I am going to find there. And this time I am not going to fail and give up or decide in the end that I want this. I am really serious and going to make a difference now. So I surfed around for articles on pokerstrategy to learn some basics again and found this course. I watched the video of the first coaching week today, read some articles, also some articles wich are listed for next week, made some summarys. And here is my sign up!!
Homework
1. What is your motivation for playing poker?
I covered this in my intro. But I want to ad some money on a monthly basis to my salary. The ultimate goal is to play poker and travel. To live where I want with poker as an income source. I also love to play poker. Especially live when you can interact with people.
2. What are your weaknesses when playing poker?
General
I give up all the time
I see the money results as to important instead of developing my skills.
I get tillt sometimes wich results in losings and the descision to give up.
I want to win and see results to quickly
On table
Preflop play is good but postflop play and later is ego based. As veriz calls it, I want to be the sherrif. I hate to give up a hand when I think that the opponont might be bluffing and that makes me too agressive.
I am not really
I am not always putting attention to the table and not putting other players on a hand or range.
Losing money makes me tillt
3. What does it mean to play tight aggressive?
Playing not too many hands preflop but play them agressive when you play hands. So that involves openraising a lot of the times when you enter preflop.
