Full Tilt - $0.50 NL (6 max)

CO: $31.80 (VPIP: 29.48, PFR: 18.84, 3Bet Preflop: 10.27, Hands: 771)
Hero (BTN): $53.20
SB: $39.00 (VPIP: 52.50, PFR: 35.00, 3Bet Preflop: 13.33, Hands: 42)
BB: $31.50 (VPIP: 12.82, PFR: 12.82, 3Bet Preflop: 11.76, Hands: 40)
UTG: $67.60 (VPIP: 28.13, PFR: 21.35, 3Bet Preflop: 8.86, Hands: 199)

SB posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has 6 :club: K :club:
fold, CO raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $5.00, fold, fold, CO calls $3.50

Flop : ($10.75, 2 players) 3  9 :club: K
CO checks, Hero bets $7.50, CO raises to $26.80 and is all-in, Hero??

Pot total is $45.05 with $19.30 to call...or...43%

Villian opens with 23% at CO after 200 hands...so lets assume he has a 25% CO standard opening.

His ranges:

Kc6c ---- 22.74%
AKo,AhQh,AhJh,KQs ---- 77.26%

Kc6c ---- 36.34%
KQs,AhQh,AhJh ---- 63.66%

Kc6c ---- 44.45%
AK,AhQh,AhJh,KQs,JJ ---- 55.55%

Kc6c ---- 67.26%
KQs,AhQh,AhJh,JJ ---- 32.74%

Clearly I need JJ to be in his range or a bluff of any kind...Is this a fair assumption and thus, a calling spot?? Or is this a check flop and call down and/or give-up hand, depending on runout??

Cheers,
TC

Hi

Preflop: This 3b is way too huge even vs a 100bb stack. And it's def way too large vs a midstacker.

Flop: I think your Flop cbet size is unnecessarily large. I think you are committed anyway and you should be calling it off here. Not thrilled about it but you kind of forced yourself into this situation with the huge PF and F bet/raise sizes.

Pot odds: 19.3/64.35 = 30%
It seems that your calculations are wrong, you need to include the 19.3 after calling as part of the calculations. When you win, you win the entire 64.35 pot and not just 45$ (45 is your net profit, but you win the pot of 64)

Equity Win Tie
MP2 63.60% 61.30% 2.30% { 99, 33, K9s+, AhQh, AhJh, QhJh, AhTh, QhTh, JhTh, Jh9h, Th9h, 9h8h, KJo+ }
MP3 36.40% 34.09% 2.30% { Kc6c }

I think the ranges you are assigning CO seems way too tight? He seems to be a weaker player so despite your 3b size being so huge, I still think he calls PF with plenty of worse hands. 36 is significantly more than 30%, which makes it a very easy call even if I add more combos of better hands, and remove some draw combos.

Thanks for the feedback!

My thoughts on the raise were, raise to $5 as I'm going for a fold with my 3b/fold range...is $4 a better range as a rule??

If my raise is to $4 (or suggested range), a cbet of 50% should suffice then??

Yes, my math was wrong...that makes a HUGE difference!!

So...if $4 3bet goes through...$8.75 in the pot...cbet of $4.35 means if he shoves for $27.80...

23.45/64.35 = 36%

Which is bang on your range for him... maybe a wee bit under... I would fold there though I think.

Cheers,
TC

Yep I'm 3betting to 3.75-4$ here. And definitely bet 50% pot in 3b pots when in doubt. You might want to read about geometric growth of pot, go google that and read some posts from 2p2 about that.

When the Stack to pot ratio is this low, you don't need to bet so large.
