I just posted a hand but I figured this one could use some feedback as well. Really gross spot :f_rolleyes:

We're 800/600 ITM which kind of makes me want to call more. The villain seems to be a bit of a fish that could be "Putting on the pressure" lol.

Here are some of his stats, not much of a sample size though with only 15 hands.

Would you have called this potential flip? I really wanted to but ended up tank folding. I don't think it would be worth calling then folding if we miss the flop so it's probably all in or fold. Seems like a mistake folding but the pressure got to me!

Hand:

I'd jam here as his sizing is far less often kk+ and i'd expect to see a lot more AK-AQ/QQ-JJ

plus non-0% that he just misclicked and didnt even mean to raise, or he got bored/has to go do something and doesn't wanna play anymore. not that these are super likely but it happens.

I really wish I had since I ended up min cashing instead of potentially sailing further with a larger stack after a win in this hand.
(Of course that result should not affect this decision)

In the moment it just sort of scared me because he was playing normal up until this point then randomly shoved 8x in my face. Only being in rough shape against two hands this was an obvious mistake but I was taking a shot at a special tournament above my bankroll and I really wanted to cash.

Guess I should have balled up and jammed. :f_cry:

His sizing is indeed weird, but I would stack up here as well without reads on him.
Too often he had a weaker hand than AK here.

Cheers,

So you are right, it is all-in or fold. You do not have info about the player, first hand that he played weird. Yes it is hard to fold AKo here, but it is still for 50 bb. May be i will shove like metza and SDK1987 says. But when you not sure what to do better to fold, like you had done, we will never understand what he has and how wide his range is here.
But there is another thought that came in my mind thinking about the hand. If he is a good player, this raise could be made on purpose to provoke you to stack off or to make a big pot, which would be worth only with the top of his range. Because he made 15 bb raise which is 28-29% of your stack, so he made you to take a thought decision for you whole stack, which is big enough preflop. If that is true, i think the fold here has more sense.

ma6, this thinking makes sense. At the same time, we block the top range, so I think I would still shove and cross my fingers to this hand hold it by the end (or villain fold pre hahaha).

Don't read anything out of the sample, also consider that something that randoms (/ fun players) like to do is raise such that they are committed to the stacks behind, while actually having having decent FE to your jam.

Provided that we likely have some FE, as said above block the top of his range, we can certainly sigh get it in.

I agree with that.
