BTN: $2.00 - VPIP: 28, PFR: 14, 3B: 6, AF: 1,0, Hands: 43
Hero (SB): $3.24 - VPIP: 23, PFR: 18, 3B: 4, AF: 2,5, Hands: 21726
BB: $2.21 - VPIP: 40, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 1,0, Hands: 5

CO: $3.80 - VPIP: 60, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 5

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is SB with A♥ J♣
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.06, Hero calls $0.05, 1 fold

Flop: ($0.14) T♣ 5♠ J♠ (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.12, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.18

Turn: ($0.74) 3♣ (2 players)
Hero bets $0.50, BTN calls $0.50

River: ($1.74) 8♠ (2 players)
Hero bets $2.38, BTN calls $1.14 all in

Call or 3bet pre? Raising flop makes sense no? Betting turn is standard. What do we do on river?

If you have a calling range from SB, then this is a call preflop.
What is your thought process and reason for the raise on flop. This is more important than if it is correct or not.
OTR - all draws complete, what do you think, are we betting there?

Im raising flop to get value from worse jacks and draws. On the river i think a check/fold makes more sense. If he has a hand we beat hes going to check most likely

Pre ok.
This is not a hand that I would check raise OTF. There are better hands at villains range. We don't have to protect this hand so much. Good rule of thumb is that you should generally avoid check raising with hands that you can't call villains push with.

You are right in there. You overplayed this hand on the river. Only better hands will call you and draws just completed. Very small bet and fold to a raise works better, or then x/f.

You should not assume that villain is stacking off with worse Jacks UNLESS you have a lot of history and you know that your villain does not respect your raises anymore (eg. you have been raising a lot of flops vs him and bluffing a ton etc.) and then you can stack him off with TPTPK here. With just 43 hands you don't really have any history.

But as played otr it is x/f.

Edit: also raise to atleast 3x always.

I agree with this. We should usually x/r with some draws, sets and overpairs. TPTK is usually a call at least for me. Villain shouldn't often call our raise with weaker Jx.

River is decition making time.
Do we have stats on how much BTN is trying to steal?
If he is stealing 70-100 then we might be beaten here.
If he is stealing like 30, we have a chance.
Id say check river.
If he shoves fold. If he check back you win some but lose less.
Thats 8 of clubs was very bad.
QK got there, flush got there, any 2 pair beats us anyway

You have the right reasons.
And you reached the right answer for the river play. Do not invest more.

We are charging the SD and FD there.

We have 43 hands on villain and we cannot base our decision on anything legit. So we treat him as unknown and xf river.

Yes I'm aware of that but you should not expect much action from worse jacks. I also don't like the flop x/r with this hand as we are OOP. IP the river play would be a lot easier with TPTK. OOP its tricky to play.

I think that we can be more aggressive OOP and more passive when IP...

But not worse Jx because those might not call very often.
