It's hard to answer this question since it's a mixed range. We should 3-bet with different ranges against EP, MP, and CO. Our alias 3-bets with the following range:

In this case, high 3-bet frequency isn't a bad thing. We should remember that we 3-bet against a mixed range from EP through CO.
Of course, we'll need to get used to hands like ATo or weak pocket pairs, but they are limit-dependent and can be effectively played in some cases.
But we can definitely highlight this: with many hands of your 3-bet range you can call against CO, but against a raise from EP it's necessary to 3-bet.

Why does it make sense to look at 3-bet stats against corresponding positions?

It's because we can work with exact 3-bet stats.
Later we'll also approach "BU vs. CO" 3-bets, CO-BU calls and the blinds.
Otherwise we'll always get mixed ranges with all the different 3-bet strategies entangled within.

I think this range is nicely built. Looks like there's nothing to change for off-suited hands. A9o can be open-raised profitably, although our hand shouldn't be weaker than that. We could, of course, add J7s and T8s while folding 96s instead, but there's no significant difference in EV.
In my database nobody plays 96s from CO but they play a lot A8o.
