i think it is bad.
One reason is that these are not the spots u should use your energy and focus and mind. This is a nuts vs nuts situation and is not important in long run.

I think that you by posting this hand ,dont have the knowledge where the real money comes from.
But this is fine because there is a lot to improve and improving is fun!
Good luck!

We cannot fold KK in normal cash games. Leave that for the WSOP featured table ;)

agree with @bonecore
i see why you fold but its overthinking imo, i would call the 5b and call it down

Now, if you ever think of folding KK here... Just call the 3b then!
If you 4b, you have to go till the end.

Easy snap shove.
You will end up playing against AA sometimes, that is true. But you still win some of those. Then you will see villain going broke with AK,AQ,KQ,JT,QQ etc... Going broke with KK pre flop is highly profitable on the long run. You just can not fold here. Especially if you don't have super strong reads that suggests villain is 5betting only with AA.

You need additional prerequisites to start thinking here. You are 138.2 bb deep. Not enough. At 200 b, maybe. Then in a UTG vs HJ situation, it is worth consideration versus a nit. (But if you are much deeper, then calling becomes attractive.)

Don't call. You give "free cards" to Ax (not that there are many). Shove. He'll call 99%, but at least he gets to pay when he is behind.

I remember reading an article on here, based on this exact spot, holding kk when facing the min 5 bet, it says you should fold.

Is 140bb not enough to justify folding, for 100bb stack i would certainly shove.

I would like to see that article.
I don't think min 5bet is always AA. It is a strong hand for sure but what does villain consider strong? Imo that move is fishy and villain could easily have AK,QQ too.
138bb is not so deep that we would have to bother our head with this. When we are close to 200bb deep we can start considering other options with KK than just shove in this spot.

I don't think 140 bb alone (with unknown + mid pos) is enough to go into the tank. Nit and earlier position (= tighter ranges), then perhaps. I don't know where the exact borderline is and nobody else does either. (Not even if they write articles:D)

The article on was on here, along with some other plays not to make. It stated "I know we should never fold KK preflop, but how many times do they have AA with this min 5bet"

In my experience playing NL5 players tend to call 4bets with AK QQ and other weaker hands, there is some that shove with trash over it, but not many, witch makes 5 bets mega strong, not everyone is a weak, in fact i beleive most players are of average to good standard and know there behind when holding hands like QQ AK, in this particular spot.

Another thing to note is, this was in the day time, the zooms seemed too be full of regs and i was getting no action, witch helped towards my decision

Another option is to just 4bet shove, i think we get more weaker hands to call and never make a mistake of folding to a better hand this way and AA vs KK even out in the end

You cannot fold vs a min 5b. Kk is the second strongest hand and villain can go in with AK/QQ...
Just cannot fold.

We would need much more info to fold KK pre flop than just that. You are making a huge lay down against unknown possible fish and your decision is based only on a population read that you have.

If you know they have AA, then you fold. Easy.

But this article that you refer to (and you) enters dangerous territory. See min-bets as nuts. See all-ins as bluffs. Thus you call the all in and fold to the min bet.

Question: Suppose villain knows your line or reasoning (or, worse, your range). Think about how he could exploit you...

It would be the best of worlds. (For him.) Whenever he three-bets and you four-bet, if he has AA he moves in (you'll call), if he has anything except AA he min five-bets (you'll fold). He'll win virtually every hand you four-bet. You win only with AA and then not even a stack because he'll fold to your six-bet all in.

I understand what your saying, and i agree with you, but this would take 10s of thousands of hands vs a player, and you would have a strategy vs him to by this point, i belive i will just 4bet shove in this spot, i think i get called by much worse in the long run
