This player could limp small Ax or complete air but in case of my 3bet he shouldn't just flat call this.

PokerStars - $0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 5 players

UTG: 73.5 BB VP 16 / PR 8 / 3B 8 (120 hands)
CO: 51 BB
BTN: 36 BB
SB: 49.5 BB
Hero (BB): 164 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K♠ Q♠

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, fold, SB calls 0.5 BB, Hero raises to 5 BB, UTG calls 4 BB, fold

Flop: (11 BB, 2 players) J♦ 7♠ K♣
Hero bets 5.5 BB, UTG calls 5.5 BB

Turn: (22 BB, 2 players) 5♦
Hero bets 6 BB, UTG calls 6 BB

River: (34 BB, 2 players) A♣
Hero checks, UTG bets 16 BB, fold

Spoiler

UTG wins 33 BB

I like pre-flop and flop play I think turn bet is too small would go about 60% pot. River I think check/call he could have an Ace, your MDF is 68% unless you know this guy is never bluffing here I would call KQ is high end of your defending range in this situation.

Betsizes are too low. I think you should bet at least 2/3 on flop and turn, you need to protect your hand and get some value. Such a weak turn bet also makes it look like you're ready to give up, and will induce bluffs. So as played I would check/call on the river.

Turn bet bigger, river is a check/call for me.

I would bet the turn at least half pot. Now he never folds if you bet a little bit more than 1/4 pot. As played river is tricky, but against a passive villain I would fold as well.

Don't forget you can only 3bet pre-flop if someone is raising in front of you. That's the same post-flop, but than there should be a bet and raise (2bet) before you can 3bet.

Cheers,

I don't mind the 1/2p on the flop but as everyone else has said i think the turn needs to be sized up.The river on the A is probably a check call villain can still have hands like 98 T8.

Preflop I myself raise to 6bb, but that's cosmetics. If UTG is a fit-or-fold postflop you can raise higher, so you get more chips :)

Flop looks ok, turn I bet higher, from 1/2 to 2/3.
River is a check / call for me.

I feel like the pre-flop raise was too high, which made the pot bigger so that betting on the turn became quite expensive.
I agree that the Turn bet was too low, this 5 only added a backdoor flush draw to the board but its basically a blank otherwise.

A Raise to 4BB preflop would have reduced the pot to 18BB on the turn (if the other players keep their line of play and your C-bet was the same %)
At this point your 6BB bet on the turn would have been 33% pot size (instead of approx 27%) which is still slightly too low, a raise to 8BB in this spot would have been my line of play.

I do like the fold tho, at those stakes ppl tend to overvalue their lower pairs and a combination like AJ or A7 could call you down all the way here and get lucky on the river
