Wondering if you could tell me whether this was the right move or not (shoving), or whether I should have raised smaller etc.
I believe what I did to be a profitable move in the long run but just happened to have some bad luck on this occasion

Should shove pre with this hand and stack size, unless you trap but I'm not a fan of trapping.
Seems like a easy shove pre-flop. He makes it 5x pre-flop and you have a 20bb stack.

it's a KO, you have 20bb AND someone tries to isolate for a bounty,...
soooooo much insentive,... easy shove, how could you just call? how did you do that,... amazing....
Flatting KK 20bb deep is def a better strategy than shoving as a default. In KO's it's probably leaning more towards shoving, but with the BB being short I quite like it tbh.
