i opened 12 tables and chechked how they perform:

on the old client it uses: 2-5% of CPU and 0% GPU
aurora with openGL on 100: 45-55% CPU and 0% GPU (if i choose the carbon (beta) theme it goes to 35-40%)
aurora with openGL on 400: 30 CPU and 20% GPU (no change with the carbon theme)

Your computer is actually quite reasonable for most purposes.
Thanks for sharing the data...

4 sure but it is really old. except the GPU.

On the right-hand side of the client, click "Help"
In the window that opens, on the left-hand side click "Open my settings folder"

That is assuming the clients are similar across platforms...
If not, use the "contact us" item on the left-hand side and ask in live chat -- they'll tell you fairly quickly.

let us know...

it seems not, can't find such a file in the corresponding folder. chatting with 'alicia' right now ;-) we'll see...

@VS
Thanks for the compliments and sharing the data, that makes it easier for later reference and others
i'm pretty sure you figured out i had no documentation, as you found some yourself.

@kasca1st
Thanks for the data aswell!

@poincaresconjecture
I am not familiar with Mac OS, so i'm sorry i can't help you further but let's hope stars support directed you in the correct folder.
hey just found something, This will probably help you enough its the "to find your settings file" part, GL i hope it works for you too

@pokerruudje
I don't use starshelper but from what i've read it's only working on the old client (so not on aurora engine) and starshelper is not working on a version for aurora either, for now you could use the method thats descriped here then the client should not use aurora and starshelper should work (as i said i don't use it, so this is just my thinking how it is probably working) that being said, i'm gonna assume that this method of running the old client is gonna disappear in future updates, so that everybody is going to get forced on the aurora client (it seems to me that stars is trying to do this, at least in the longterm planning)

They did, that's how you find the settings file in mac os:

Locate the user file by selecting 'Finder'.
Press on the menu bar at the top of your screen.
Choose 'Go'.
Select 'Go to Folder...'.
Type the following or copy/paste into the area provided and press 'Enter':
~/Library/Preferences

If the library folder does not display:
Please launch 'Terminal' from 'Spotlight' (Spotlight can be found in the top-right of the menu bar or press the 'Command + Space bar' key combination)
Enter the following command to show the directory:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Press 'Enter'

the file is: com.pokerstars.eu.user.ini (at least in my system)

i know this is not PokerStars related but still:

may i ask if someone knew any similar solution to this user.ini change when playing on a WPN network client?
i would like to share the load on sources, right now it uses similar amount of the CPU as PS aurora and no GPU :(

thx forward!

I suggest that you create a new thread in the Winner Poker Network forum
There may be players who monitor that board.

If WPN is not the same as "Winner Poker Network forum", then it's a bit of a problem, since our forum principles don't permit discussing of unaffiliated rooms.

Back on the Aurora topic...
I played a session today using the old graphics engine.
Some notes:
:diamond:  Didn't seem to make any difference to CPU or RAM usage that I could tell
:diamond:  The little graph that shows how much time you have left to act doesn't count down -- either before or after the time bank is activated
:diamond:  The feature that pops your notes out to a separate window works, but you can no longer make it the default.

winner poker is on ipoker network and WPN stands for winning poker network. two seperate things!
i know we arre not allowed to "promote" non partner rooms, that's why i did not mention any specific site of that network.

you can delete my posts if it is not appropriate here.

Thanks for posting the solution -- it may help others.
The only setting I could see that I would change was the default GPU -- which was "auto-select", so I changed the global setting to point to the GeForce GTX 960 -- what settings did you change?

Hi Vampiir142,
If you follow the instruction in this post: https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3200521#post3200521
This will cause the client to use the previous version of the table software.

At the moment, this works, and at the moment, HUDs should still work -- at least PokerTracker 4 does.

If I misunderstood your question, please provide more detail...

I was asking for previos post:

1. In the settings folder, find the user or user.ini file, right-click on it and select Edit to open the file with notepad.
2. Within the file, find the section that starts with [PipeOption] and add the following line LegacyPokerTable=1
3. Save the changes you made to the settings file and restart your computer.
4. Reopen our software, then log back in.

And I am not sure, that changing LegacyPokerTable=1 cause previous version. So than I am asking for, if by your replay yes, than OK.

Today morning somehow I played 5 cash tables.

I played 3 tables when a table from waiting list popped out and I opened another table at the same time. Anyone else experienced this before? Is it a bug in Aurora?

Aurora breaks notes -- I used to have loads of different labels, but I can no longer.
I tried using the "LegacyPokerTable" -- and it works, but the time-bank gauges don't work properly, and the pop-out chat function isn't quite the same.

Old style label pop-up menu:

New style label pop-up menu:

As you can see, there is a limited number of label categories available now.
I'm going to play today with the Aurora engine just to see...

i do not see the point of having bazzilion labels. tbh some of the labels looks the same anyway and no way to tell the differences.
but ofc it is your business.
to me both lists look the same and there is an edit label line on the button so i assume you can add some if you wanted.

You are quite correct.
I started this "system" when I was very new to poker.
I have over 5000 notes on players, in all poker variants, so it is now nearly impossible to fix without losing existing notes.
I've started labelling them by player type, but it will take ages to convert all of them unless I just dump the lot and start again.
The main use of the "Edit Labels" button is to remove labels to shrink the list so that it will fit.

The Aurora list doesn't scroll, so you only ever see the bottom of the list.
I have removed several label categories already by manually editing the notes file -- I can explain that later if necessary.
I have mentioned the notes problem to PokerStars - maybe they can fix it.

I'm also considering writing a small program to read and display the notes on a player separately.
A lot of work though.
The problem is that many of my notes are several lines long, and the font in the notes field of the table is so small and that field doesn't scroll well.

Yes that is some list. I play exploitative poker and so label my opponents according to their nearest playing style. I also add a few notes to give a clearer indication of their tendencies. I have 9 playing styles colour coded which I thought was a little excessive. Now I am not so sure.....:f_tongue:

The plan is to collapse all the 5-Card Draw labels into one, and add the current label name as a note.
So the label "draws 2 with pair" would be gone, and all the players with that label would have "draws 2 with pair" added at the top of their note.
Also, all notes longer than 4 lines would be condensed.

There is room for 21 labels in an Aurora table, and I could easily get down to well below that.
A label entry looks like:

		<label id="15" color="1985FF">5CD Aggro Hi 3Bet</label>

I could probably get rid of that immediately, since 3Bet stats are in the HUD

A player note entry looks like:

	<note player="XXXXXXXXX" label="15" update="1316880609">Aggro Hi 3Bet
 posts bb OOT
can draw to flush in SB
limps UTG w/ Ts</note>

I could to this using a script.
Also, the update number is the number of seconds since 1970-01-01, so I could delete all notes older than 5 years.
In the example 1316880609 = 2011-09-24 so it could easily go
This would become:
<note player="XXXXXXXXX" label="15" update="1316880609">posts bb OOT
can draw to flush in SB
limps UTG w/ Ts</note>
